Well, Angela Merkel does not have kids. That says quite a lot about society.

Mmmm  People don't have kids for a wide (maybe yuge) variety of reasons.  Not always about society.

I'm doing my bit for German population growth.  Boy No.2 due next week (eek).

As our lovely (German) paediatrician says:  "the Germans prefer nice holidays to kids."

That  is the general tendency in the world, not specific to Germany.

Please see here, very illustrative and per country:

In certain countries you have no chances to held the highest office without children. Of course, in Germany it's a personal choice, and the reasons is non of our business. But not all countries are like Germany.

It has been like that in the past, Merkel's and May's generation. But not anymore.

The present Dutch prime minister is single. Never been married. He had his last girl-friend 20 years ago in his student time.

Yeah, John, he loved kids. So much so that he gave them one wy trips on his boat the Morning Cloud.

As for infertile, poppycock. I met the woman I own, got mine in whilst very drunk, wiggled it about till it went off and at least twice something came out.

Can't get them back in though and it's been over a decade since, sadly.
