And?  So the imports stop and then what? French farmers lose their livelihoods resulting in more pissed of Frogs who are then swept up by Marie Le Pen in 2022 along with all the Yellow Vests etc etc etc  who are already disillusioned with Wonder Boy Macron and the EU?

And the UK imports paprika from somewhere else!

If the EU bollockses this up then they are simply hastening their own demise.

Just while we are on about imports. Dunno if you saw Leo Varadkar on the news a few days ago. Well, he's launched the Irish election.

As Leo says,

"The capacity to do everything else that needs to be done, in health care, housing, climate action ... depends on achieving a positive outcome in these [Brexit] negotiations

So as he says, Ireland is fucked if there is no deal. Healthcare, schools, housing. The whole shebang!  His arse is twitching and this speech is also a plea to his puppet masters in the EU.

(Irish Trade Statistics report that in 2018, 50% of beef exported from Ireland went to the UK (around 270,000 tonnes), making the Irish the dominant importer into the UK.)

And there are a few other countries who are also rightly worried.

On 1/19/2020, 11:28:06, Keleth said:

Funnily enough they`re worried but the new wonderful UK economy has absolutely no reason to worry that 45% of total UK exports are to the EU ?

You forgot to answer this

Ooops! How rude of me!

Just before I start, you sure have a lot of time on your hands to ask questions here. Have you thought about doing some voluntary work in a charity shop or something?  I think it would be good for you, Keleth. Lots of OAPs do it, apparently! Hahaha!

Actually, how old are you? I reckon about 75ish?

Anyways, the answer to that is the EU has a £66 Billion trade surplus with the UK. That's gonna hurt everyone if the EU ballses up the trade negotiations and as I have already said, it might hasten the EU's demise. If you think everything is all roses in EUphoria, it's not. Look at the political strife that going on in EU member states. The last thing they need is a trade war with the UK because it could be the straw that breaks the camel's back.

One of the things that was a driving force for Brexit in coastal towns is now a "bargaining chip".

If you want to call it a bargaining chip, then yes, it is. Do you know how negotiations work?

Nope just amused that something along the lines of socialism is seen as good by so many Torys this time.

Pfffffffffft!

Along the lines of socialism!  Mate, what a brainfart! (But thanks for the laugh)

They've been allowed to defer the £100 million APD. That means they pay it later, call it a tax holiday or what-fucking-ever but to say that is socialism really is dumb.

As I said, if the Tories had done nothing, you would have said they are beyond contempt and now that they try to secure jobs you come up with this socialism garbage!

It's hilarious!

Do you know what the word mitigate means ?

Yes, I know what it means but I am not sure why you are asking me this? Also, just because I know you are a dyed in the wool Labour supporter. How do you reconcile standing up for millionaire bankers losing their jobs or having their jobs moved. I thought you would see them as scum but now you seem to be championing them?

By the way, I didn't write the Reuters article which Frau Fruitcake inaccurately quoted me as writing and which you then quoted me as saying.

Nope just thought because you know all the plans you would let us know when the new independent UK will be good for Britain.

We haven't left yet but it already looks good for the UK.  Now that there is at least some clarity investment will start flowing again.

Facebook targets UK growth with 1,000 hires this year

LONDON (Reuters) - Facebook will hire 1,000 people in London this year in roles such as product development and safety as it continues to grow its biggest engineering center outside the United States after Britain leaves the European Union.

Parvalux Electric Motors to build new 140,000 sq ft factory and HQ in Poole

Quote

(swiss owned) Parvalux Electric Motors Ltd has announced an agreement in principle to purchase the 8.75-acre former Siemens site in Sopers Lane, Poole.

Construction of a 140,000 square feet factory & office headquarters is due to commence later this year, subject to planning permission and completion of a land quality assessment.

You remaniacs have held everything up for the last however many years and now that the UK has a strong and stable government, not to mention a government with balls, the investment is starting to flow again.

Evening, Hellfire! I have been examining your writing style for a while! Very impressive and erudite...but the question remains...post- Brexit! Will you be a loyal Newcastle United, Sunderland or Hartlepool fan? There´s something Geordie.ish in your humour.

Not that old but whatever age I am it`s probably a good few points higher than your IQ.

1 hour ago, hellfire99 said:

Something that you say was the driving force behind Brexit in coastal towns deserves to be considered more than a bargaining chip.

Funnily enough the stance has already changed from as soon as Brexit happens EU boats will be banned from UK waters to not until at least the end of the year if then.

1 hour ago, hellfire99 said:

Yes, I know what it means but I am not sure why you are asking me this

Because the article you quoted say the new jobs will help mitigate the loss of the ones lost because of Brexit.

It doesn`t say the new jobs are more than those lost through Brexit.

1 hour ago, hellfire99 said:

Nope but you linked it while celebrating the new jobs all the while forgetting the ones lost.

Of course it was all made clear in the campaigning for Brexit that this was going to be a long term thing and that for the next 20-30 years the UK may suffer.

Just like the 350m a week to the NHS.

History didn`t begin after we gave those nasty Krauts a hell of a beating in WWII.

Why pull out of the agreements in workers rights and safety standards if you`re not going to improve/worsen them ?

As you seem confident they won`t worsen them then you either think they`re going to improve them or you think there is something wrong with the present ones.

1 hour ago, hellfire99 said:

Also, just because I know you are a dyed in the wool Labour supporter.

When it`s a choice between Labour and Torys then yep and there has never been another worthwhile choice, and as I said there is no way I would have voted for either of them in the last GE.

They are scum.

As I said the only country that dealt with the banks in the right way was Iceland.

Many people who wanted Brexit did think that especially the fishermen.

There is nothing of any substance in anything you have written below. You seem deflated. And also, I feel sorry for you that you look for the negativity in everything.

20 minutes ago, Keleth said:

Funnily enough the stance has already changed from as soon as Brexit happens EU boats will be banned from UK waters to not until at least the end of the year if then.

Can you link an article to that because I have never read anything of the likes?

20 minutes ago, Keleth said:

Nope but you linked it while celebrating the new jobs all the while forgetting the ones lost.

Maybe you can do the footwork then and find out for us?  What are the numbers of jobs that left.

Here's the good news which you will interpret as negative.  London is set to go from strength to strength as as the financial services capital.

London set to remain financial services capital of Europe as over 1000 EU firms plan to open UK offices

Quote

More than 1,400 EU-based firms have applied for permission to operate in the UK after Brexit, with over 1,000 of these planning to establish their first UK office, according to a Freedom of Information request (FOI) by financial regulatory consultancy Bovill. The FOI provides evidence that London and the UK will continue to be a leading player on the global financial stage after Brexit.

“These figures clearly show that many firms see the UK as Europe’s premier financial services hub. This is a clear vote of confidence in the UK financial services sector and good news for the UK’s service economy overall. The high proportion of firms without an existing UK branch that have applied for the TPR suggests there will be some movement of staff from these EU27 firms into the UK.

“Although much attention has been given to the number of UK firms moving staff and operations into Europe, there is also likely to be movement in the opposite direction. The results of the FOI may have been anticipated by those in the industry, many of whom have recognised for some time that London remains Europe’s only truly global financial centre, and firms on the continent with global aspirations will need to continue to do business here.”

I'm genuinely pleased for these people who will no doubt be not only our European friends but also global citizens.

What do you think of them, Keleth?

20 minutes ago, Keleth said:

They are scum.

I guess you know each and everyone of them to make such a sweeping statement?

Haha, you mentioned the bus!

The UK will go from strength to strength.  As I have already posted, the EU's share of global trade is decreasing and is forecast to decrease. Europe has shrunk as a % of the world economy.

Where will the EU be in 20-30?  Give me your prediction.

20 minutes ago, Keleth said:

I'm not even sure what you are talking about. You said, and I quote,

Quote

In the days of the industrial revolution it looked a lot worse.

You do know what and when the industrial revolution was, don't you?  Just in case you don't and have mixed it up here is an Industrial revolution timeline. (For kids and Keleth)

Industrial Revolution: Timeline for Kids

20 minutes ago, Keleth said:

Why pull out of the agreements in workers rights and safety standards if you`re not going to improve/worsen them ?

Because some adjustments will suit the UK better as they weren't needed or were heavy handed. Also, you seem to think that the EU regulations were handed down by God and can't be questioned.

EU good, UK bad is your mantra.

And before you ask, you google it!

20 minutes ago, Keleth said:

Irrelevant, but we have already established that you simply vote for the color and not the policy. Ridiculous.

20 minutes ago, Keleth said:

How many fishermen told you that?

Keleth mate, it would be great if you could at least attempt to answer my questions because you simply come back with more what-ifs, negativity and general rubbish.

You'd be hard pressed making the 6th form debating team with your skills. You seem to have become emotionally involved in Toytown, and we can see that as you have become less and less rational.

Something for you to think about.  No?

Here is something for you remainiacs!

Pro-EU banner to fly over White Cliffs of Dover ahead of Brexit  (The Evening Standard)

Quote

A crowdfunding campaign for a massive pro-EU flag to be displayed over the White Cliffs of Dover ahead of Brexit has raised £11,000 in three days.

Set up by South East England MEP Antony Hook on Friday, the campaign's target was just £5,500 to fund the 150 square metre banner and it made the sum in 24 hours.

The message will read: "We still love EU."

Mr Hook said: "The phenomenal success of this appeal demonstrates how passionately people in this country feel about sending a positive message to the EU."

He added: "This banner is much bigger than leave or remain. It is about communicating our appreciation for our nearest neighbours and our hope that we will continue to have the best possible relationship with them in the future."

If you guys want to donate you can do so here.

Brexit day stunt - we still love the EU!

Bet you the flag is made in China!

And they way you post...

Oh Dear...followed by some utter shite from sites that no one apart from loons like you have ever heard of.

Always with the Oh Dear as though that will make people believe that what you have posted is 100% true and from a cast iron reliable source.

The one thing that makes me angry though is the complete double standard on here.BMurphy gets rightly permabanned for a racist comment yet you are allowed to continue with your jewbaiting, homophobic shit.FFS you even sent pervy PMs to a few female posters on here.I somehow don`t believe it`s me who leaves a wet patch behind after posting.
