Polish nationals advised to return home

Poland's ambassador to the UK has said it might be best for Polish nationals to return home after Brexit.

Arkady Rzegocki has written to 800,000 Poles in the UK, advising them to "seriously consider" leaving the country.

He said living standards in Poland were improving, providing "a very good opportunity to come back".

The Bundesverfassungsgericht got an honourable mention in the UK Supreme Court today. It was being used an example of how physical distance between the highest court and the seat of government is a good thing. The comparison was drawn between the distance between the Court of Session in Edinburgh and Westminster.

Cromwell's tyranny in Ireland also got a (dis)honourable mention.

I don't I'm afraid I was listening on the Supreme Court website and you can only live stream. It was during the afternoon session (O'Neill) maybe half an hour before I posted here.

One possible way to spin this: "126 European Members of Parliament want the UK to eff off once and for all."

Really shameful. Their explanation for the abstention suggests that they consider their opposition to the EU more important than the human rights of British citizens.

"'The resolution was not just about Nazarin and in this and many other foreign policy issues, we believe that the EU is partly responsible for the problem. 'The resolution called for the EU to take the lead on this and other issues, something that we believe to be ineffectual and counter productive.'"

But another Brit of Iranian origin, Shappi Khorsandi, suspects the abstention was provoked by baser motives.

The Brexit Party would leave me to rot in an Iranian jail

Jesus just read the comments under the article and it gives the truth to whoever said "everyone who voted for Brexit is not racist, however all racists voted for Brexit".

See the problem is they like foreigners but only when they go to their country and get treated like Kings.

Like people on this board who go on about being all over Africa etc It`s not the places they like it`s the treatment they get you know, being called Bwana and calling the "natives" Boy etc.

What they don`t want is those very same foreigners being in the UK because they might learn that they don`t have to treat white people like kings and then what´s going to happen to those poor colonials.

There are now 12 water companies, out of the 23 in the UK, which have foreign owners not including the proposed Severn Trent deal with US-based Morgan Stanley and UK-based Infracapital. Water should never have been privatised

Nothing should have been privatised.

Who is at fault ?

The Tory party.

The very same Tory party that is now unbelievably being held up as  a party of Heroes by Brexiteers.

The very same Tory party who`s greatest heroine did more to destroy the working class than nearly anyone in history.

The same Tory Party who put the country through years of needless austerity yet again killing off the poor.

Yet today normal working class people are happy to vote them into power because they promise to get the UK out of the EU and we all know the EU wants to straighten bananas so stopping that is way more important than actually looking after the poorer people of a country.

Absolute fucking morons are most Brexiteers. The sort of people who would vote Joseph Stalin into power because they want the trains to run on time.

Keleth..does any one under the age of about 100 go to Africa and call the " natives " Boy? Serious question!

And doesn´t Bwana translate roughly as Sir/Madam, a polite way to talk to guests just like monsieur/madame, senor/senora etc? Again, a genuine question. I have never travelled around Africa.

Well 73 of them are the British ones. Edit: at least this is my guess. Nigel and consorts would be voting against it hoping that this way EU solves BJs dilemma in not giving Britain a prolongation thereby making Brexit happen without BJ beeing responsible.
