Brexit: The fallout

this is all old hat stuff

This document is just what the Sunday times has already printed a couple of weeks or week ago

Nothing New

The government will say its all been fixed

The remainers will say nothing can be done

I want to know the current situation, not what was done under May's rule, its useless, the government are not putting out the current position, after atempts to fix some/all of the problems stated in this document

I can't believe the entire extent of the Operation Yellowhammer documentation extends to a whole 6 pages. There should be much more and if there isn't then God help the UK.

It should be noted that this document is ostensibly the exact same one as scooped by the Times a couple of weeks back. What has changed? The date and the heading. The heading used to say "Base scenario" now it talks of worst case. How dumb do they think people are? Very is the answer and they are correct.

The Daily Mail and Telegraph front pages make no mention of the Scottish court ruling yesterday. These rags are largely why the UK is in the mess it's in now.

Is it really that important? It was always going to end up in the supreme court (hearing set for Tuesday).

I must admit that there appears to be nothing new in this document compared to what we already suspected.

And it was not as bad as I thought it would be, given the fuss.

4.5 billion in shorts when the FTSE market cap is around 2 trillion is insignificant.  Bond market is even bigger and currency market even bigger yet.

Is the Guardian writer aware and attempting to appeal to conspriracy theorists or oblivious ?

Yes - follow the money but not insignificant amounts.

LOL - to live in a world where 4.5 billion isn't "significant" to an individual.

Remember, when the election and/or second referendum comes around, don't vote. You'll only be disappointed. Thus spake cult bias.

You didn't read the article, C***o.  It refers to funds, not individuals.  It is a rounding error.

I don't mind your name calling, but don't want you to think i am not playing along, C***o.

A wealthy individual can set up a fund for him and his rich Tory mates to invest in! Moggs investment company does exactly that day in day out.

You (and most adults) can set up a currency, stock, bond, futures and/or options trading account and get in on the action.

As soon as you put your money on the line, you will realize that:

1.   insiders have inside information and they make money from it.

2.   insiders do not tell the general public what they are going to do until they have already done and they want to unload their positions on the public.

3.   no matter which position you take, it is fraught with risk.

From this thread, Bercow, various judicial processes, rejection of the call for elections + other votes in both Commons and Lords, public opinion, resigning MP's, and other obstructions could stop or significantly delay Brexit.

The idea that some guys have it all figured out and they are all powerful is complete nonsensical conspiracy garbage.    You can look at the Brexit vote from 2016 or the US election and note that a lot of people with big positions bet the wrong way.

Yeah, conspiracy garbage. Just like there was absolutely no Russian interference in the referendum or influence from Cambridge Analytica.

Can't you cretins see this is clearly the WILL OF THE PEOPLE?

What is your point?    Panama papers detailed tax evasion and not a conspiracy  theory about those who know how Brexit is going to happen or not on October 31.

My point is, look at ALL the big players in brexit, and you will see that they are ALL promoting their own agendas before "the will of the people". Without exception. There's no evidence to the contrary.
