Being held liable for bike marks on walls to common bike storage room

Dear all

There is a bycicle storage with 3 bycicles in the cellar

One is mine. When i put it down i might have touched the walls. The owner says i did all the marks and now wants money from me after he painted

Am i responsible for the painting ? Isnt it a common area ?

Will liability insurance help me ? I have one . If i have to use it what is the procedure? Should i call Allianz ?

I am just wondering why i am the only one found resp for tha tracks since there are 3 bycicles ... Why should I pay ?
