German rules I hate

Try making the assistant wait for payment while you put all your "well thrown" shopping into the trolley. Not only does it annoy her it also annoys the hell out of the person who has been pushing you forward with theier trolley so that they can start putting their shopping on the conveyer.

I still dont understand why they have 6 items or less when everyone goes through with 10-12!! or alternatively 6 trays of 24 assorted dog food!

I don't know why it's so difficult...

- Take Klappbox(es) (folded) with you in trolley

- Circulate & Shop

- Queue, load stuff onto belt and prepare EC Card for rapid retrieval

- As your stuff goes through, pack it into Klappbox(es)

- When she has finished scanning, but you are finishing packing...

... whip out EC Card and give to friendly checkout lady

- As she is messing about with EC Card you have time to finish packing

- She returns EC Card at exactly the same time as you put your last piece into box

- You leave shop pushing trolley with Klappbox(es) packed

- You arrive at car and heave said box(es) into same

- You leave after another calming trip to the supermarkt...

-Put too many heavy things in Klappy

-Spend next 20 mins retrieving your shopping from all over the car park

-Go back in store for a broom to sweep up glass

-Go back in to store for more wine & eggs

-Get home, realise you stood in eggs & wine & the car is a mess

-Spend 20 mins cleaning car.

THROW OUT USELESS F****** KLAPPBOX

But what if you get the checkout and you find the "queues" are 20 deep. How can you dump your trolley there if you have your goods in the Klappbox?

You'd be laughed out of Tescos if you showed up with a Klappbox.

I hate packing at supermarkets while there is a queue of people behind you so I love the system of throwing back into the trolley at lidl and then going to the bench to pack it properly and take my time to be it right. Maybe because I have to walk with my shopping and don't have a car, I find the time to load my rucksack makes the walk home easier.

I like having to pay for shopping bags. It cuts back on the amount of rubbish back home. In Ireland they introduced a plastic bag charge and it has been very effective on cutting back the number of plastic bags decorating the trees and shrubs. No more bags that burst either or cut the hand off you.

Not strictly a "rule" but...

Dogs being allowed in shops, and worst of all restaurants.

Being offered unsolicited advice on any given aspect of my life by my German co-workers

German guy I was seeing recently always insisted on packing the stuff into the boxes out in the car even in the freezing cold and tipping rain you will never get a German to change their routine!!!

One thing I absolutely hate about shopping here is when you don't buy anything and you try to exit the supermarket there are no EXITS! You have to push past a huge queue just to exit the bloody shop!
