My aim is to hit the reds too please, as I'm a little concerned about any green making it seem I have anything in common with what appears to be the dominant view on the refugee crisis...which is of course, factually and causally, linked to the terrorist attack in Brussels...yes, yes, of course it is.

Thanks, we'll treat the thoughts of someone in Australia with the derision they deserve.

To all the people negging @joshham about Merkel, I'm just wondering can you vote in Germany?  If so, there's your opportunity to try for change :-)...  If you can't, countries like the UK, America and Australia have right-wing conservative nutjobs just waiting for your vote!

LOL @ Cameron being right wing.  The fact that you use Taylor Swift to emphasize your point says a lot.  :P

I bet they weren't celebrating England winning...

Correct.  Pakistan won the Twenty20 cricket world cup in 2009 with the final game between Sri Lanka at Lords.

The left demonizes oil and energy for no other reason but to tax it – to fill their pockets by stripping people of their earnings, by coercing them with global warming swindles to use less and charge them triple

Oh dear, you almost had me until you used the words 'global warming swindle'

Yes but can any of you vote in Germany? That seemed a simple question, oder?

And you guys would L-O-V-E Australia with it's illegal offshore detention policies, it's totes your thing :-)

It's extremely disturbing that the mass-murdering bomber brothers were able to escape a police raid that targeted them eight days prior to the bombings. It's easy for the security forces in a country the size of Belgium to get overtaxed, and it seems to me that other European countries, especially Germany, should be providing assistance.

Australia has solved its migrant problem effectively, and, to the best of my knowledge, legally. There is no right to migrate to Australia, and it's well known that most applications for asylum are not made by people who were in fact persecuted. It seems to me that people actually escaping persecution would be happy to be safe from it, and to reach the nearest safe place.

Love it @Conquistador, what 'migrant problem' would that be? The one the British had a hand in with 'terra nullius'? You're speculative stats are also awesome dude, utterly wrong, but awesome none the less :-)

Katajena, if your attitude is that Australia has no right to decide who comes through its borders because the British claimed it and sent settlers in a very different world over 200 years ago, prepare to be ridiculed.

There's nothing wrong with being aware of white Europeans' past crimes against humanity, but liberal guilt like yours is responsible for the mess that Europe is in today.

I can´t vote in Germany -simple answer!

Anything else you write/ask seems to be a waste of time for anyone living in Europe right now - another denier of serious problems and of not making a distinction between genuine refugees and economic migrants lying about their age, nationality et al..100%

Is there a reason why you keep lumping everyone on this forum together as anti-immigrant because some folks have pointed out the flaws in the open border without checks policy we currently have? Or the fact that the government has known about the potential refugee problem for two years and did nothing when it could have set up temporary consulates to issue visas and vet the applicants if Germany really does need immigrants?  Some of us believe that opening the gates like that irrespective of checking their skills or checking that they actually are refugees is disingenuous, especially because of problems with tolerated status.  But no, instead they let them pay smugglers and take dangerous trips over the Aegean in leaky rafts.

And yes, some of us can vote but even the ones who can't have the right as residents and taxpayers to criticize the policies of Germany.  It's not the exclusive right of Germans to do this. But thanks for your qualified and well thought out input on the subject.  Sounds like you work for ARD or something, trying to shame anyone who doesn't agree with the government.

It is easier...

It is easier to label someone as something you feel is negative. Left wing do it all the time..

If you are sceptical about the whole thing, you are raciest. Not much grey room in the middle, the far left and right have trouble dealing with the middle ground, it is too complicated for them.

Labels have been used by the far left/right for a long time... It is a tactic to try and shut people up.

If you are critical of the refugee issue - raciest.

Wars overseas - unpatriotic.

Want a more social system - communist.

I always thing of the following song when I think of politics..

'Clowns to left of me, jokers to the right, stuck in the middle with you' - the problem being, the middle also do not seem to really know what they are doing.

I look at it this way - I was not there, did not take part and so, as said above, it is good to know that happened - but it has no bearing on what I think today.

This is also my view on any other country on regards to the past. I do not expect Germans to be sorry for WWII - the ones I know that were around at the time were around 10 years max.

If we went around doing this, how far should we go back? If we go back long enough, I could drag in the Saxons, the Romans, the Vikings and towards the end, the Normans.

All have caused my country trouble by invading - Where do I make my claim for compensation?

Yo yo yo peeps, you guys brought up the white lib guilt when you mixed up (Australia's illegal detention processes for) asylum seekers with migrants...there's a difference.

And I just wanted to know if you folks can vote...thought that might help alleviate your feelings of helplessness a little...anything additional you want to argue about off topic's your own lookout :-)
