This is the kind of attack they tried in Glasgow a few years back.

Some kind of report was carried out due to that. They concluded that the check in area of an airport is the softest target you can go for. There are no security checks and you can have a target audience of 500+ during high traffic season.

 

It  does not amaze me that terrorists thought 'this is the easy target'. The Metro station is the same kind of target.
