We are new here in Germany. Although,we are Egyptians ( have a tax-system) but we lived most our life in Dubai (Tax free country)

We were looking for a tax advisor, who can explain to us the German tax system and how to manage it.

Thanks. Ramy

At last - someone else. I had the same experience with Herr Zitselsberger - mailed him FOUR times; no response whatsoever. Good luck to him.

Lee Serota (US) and Frank Strauch (Germany) +49 (6196) 996-26450 at Ernst & Young.

They work together and coordinate returns, which is key.

Corporate rates, but worth every penny.

I am looking for a reasonably priced steuerberater in the Frankfurt area. Must be experienced in international tax (and complex situations!) I am a uk citizen but in 2008 I had residence periods in Germany and Australia. Prior to that I had been paying tax in Germany for a number of years. I have a significant amount of tax to pay and need to find a way to reduce it.

Now that 2009 has past...

Although it's probably a bit early to make a start on tax returns...

Situation is: Was employed for the last 3 months of 2009 in Germany, but the Finanzamt never got around to sending me my tax card (lohnsteuerkarte), even though I got the tax id number at the beginning of December. Finanzamt told me I can get a letter for the employer (can't remember the name). My company doesn't have it's own payroll; it's done by a private company, so not sure they would do anything to re-adjust my taxes for last year. Also, I can make a double household claim, for my rent and travel etc..

It's probably just a question of claiming tax rebate on 3 months rent; a couple of flights; some other transportation costs, and the adjustment for a period of emergency tax instead of Class I.

This doesn't sound that difficult, so should I just get some software and use a good online translation system to complete it?

Any recommendation on value for money software that is simple to complete, or am I underplaying the difficulty of doing a tax return????

Also want to get the double household thing onto my tax card asap for 2010, so I can get the benefit at source, rather than wait until 2011 (that sounds so far away right now).

Thanks in advance TTr's

Does anyone know how much I can expect to pay for an account to do my tax this year? Also, can anyone reccommend a good accountant with decent fees?

Recently I was looking for an English speaking accountant and a tax consultant as well. After doing some internet research, reading user's reviews etc. I stumbled upon "Stamm Steuerberatung" tax consulting. I have to say that I am very happy with the service I received and especially with the taxes I saved. ;)

One of the great advantages was the free preliminary consultation in which I could explain the issue I need assistance with and get a clear answer regarding possible solutions and costs.

Those are the contact details, I hope she'll be able to help you:

Claudia Stamm

Steuerberaterin

Voltastr. 74

60486 Frankfurt am Main

Telefon: +49 69 15347074

E-Mail: cs@stamm-steuerberatung.de

Cheers,

David

Can anyone give me an estimate of the cost range for tax advisors in Frankfurt? I'm guessing there is a big difference in rates depending on who they are advising.

Thanks for the help!
