More British things in Germany than German things in Britain

(Split from the Buying Tampons in Germany thread)

Muffin, I won't go back on the tampon topic (though there is not only OB here :P ) but I still think you can get more british things here than I could get german things in Wales? :P

Yes Hannah you are right. :P But I am sure you would be able to get German sausages and bread there I know this as I have got my family hooked on them. The supermarkets stock Fleischwurst and German beers and so on so I am confident you can get plenty of German products in Wales.

I went to see a friend in Portsmouth a few months back and they served Hefe with the proper glasses and everything but they were impressed when I showed them how to pour it out of the bottle!

But I would like to add that I don't think diet drinks are necessarily British (or Welsh) products. I say the same for skimmed milk why can I only buy the long life stuff in Germany???

try "kalorienarm" instead of "diet" and you should find loads of drinks ^_^

you are looking for skimmed milk "non long life"? erm...not sure what you talk about sorry

In England we have whole milk, semi-skimmed milk and skimmed milk with decreasing amounts of fat. Fettarm is the equivalent of semi-skimmed, there is no equivalent to skimmed here. None of this has anything to do with long-life milk which is somehting completely different.

hmmm...there is milk with 0.3 % fat, which should be really skimmed because 1,5 % is already skimmed. "normal" milk has 3,5

Yes entrahmt is the milk I mean 0,3 or sometimes 0,1 fat

I just want some fresh milk and you cannot get 0,3 entrahmt, skimmed or whatever we want to call it on here in any supermarket anywhere - nerv!! But I guess after 4 years I have gotten used to it.

As for the soft drinks I have tried the kalorienarm versions and there are lots I admit but these are not diet drinks as they still have calories in them.

if they don't have any, ask if they do or can stock it. they have limited fresh stock, so it's a matter of knowing when to get thee before it's all sold out! :o
