The current weather in Hamburg & Surrounds

Could be, between that and the storms that have been causing flooding also all over Britain. Winds pushing choppy waves over the piers, up into the walking/parking areas. By now the water has reached the sidewalks on the other side of the street.

30 minutes ago the sun was shining & apart from being a bit windy all was OK.

Now the sky is dark grey, the wind is howling & there was a clap of thunder just now.

Update: Taken out of my Arbeitszimmer window a few minutes ago looking East (towards Hamburg):

it just rained every day for almost 3 weeks straight. we finally had a clear sky last week, that was amazing. i think this may be the worst weather i've ever experienced on earth. it's just gray and rainy all the damn time. and that gray is just solid gray, devoid of life. how do you folks cope? my only way so far has been to leave the city on trips. i'm seriously thinking about moving south or something. after 2 years, I just can't take this abysmal weather in Hamburg anymore...

Yep - rain, rain & more rain to come.

The fields have water standing on them.  At least it has warmed up: +10 C yesterday evening.

We lived in Sunderland many years ago and one year had 3 solid months of grey, no horizon, no nothing. It was deeply depressing. Apparently the suicide rate really does go up in these circumstances. I wonder if a light box would help, vanwho, easier than a move.

Today (Sunday) sunshine, almost no wind & bitterly cold - was -5 overnight.

Super weather - as long as you are behind glass.

Good Friday: fine rain most of the day.  In afternoon it eased off a bit & we got numerous plants into the garden.

Saturday: Wall-to-wall sunshine (lots of flying @ our airfield)

Easter Sunday: Pouring rain (as promised).  BBQ planned for today - grill is warming up under the carport!

Rumbings of thunder currently from the direction of Hamburg (to the East of me)...

We're getting the thunderclouds coming in here as well. After such a nice day, too!

Steady gentle rain for the past couple of hours.  Actually a good thing as we had just spread fertiliser on the lawn...

2am this morning - over an inch of snow on the ground & more falling.

7am - all gone except for some house & car roofs.

Currently Graupelschauer (not for first time today).  Does not seem to exist in UK-English & I never recall seeing it whilst in UK.
