its a bit lively outside at the moment.

Evening walk with dogs is cancelled.  They will just be pushed out into the garden.

...and hopefully let back in. (after the storm?) ;)

Entire household woken by a massive clap of thunder & lashings of rain.

The barometer is pointing to "Storm".  Never seen it so low.

This morning saw that there is a tree down in neighbour's garden.

It fell at right-angles to the wind - if it had fallen with the wind it would be on their house.

Photo taken from one of our upstairs windows.

Update: First neighbours knew about it was when they read a message that our daughter sent them.

And they sleep close to where the tree came down!

I found the silver lining -

Quote

Power prices have tumbled as stormy weather across Europe helped drive some of the highest output from wind turbines ever recorded.

Day-ahead UK power dropped 11pc to £140 per megawatt-hour as Storm Eunice whipped up gusts of up to 90 miles per hour.

German prices fell by more than two-thirds to their lowest this year, while output from wind farms in the country is set to double by tomorrow morning.

Millions of people have been told to stay at home as one of the worst storms in decades batters Britain. But the jump in wind generation will offer some relief to strained energy markets, which have relied heavily on coal and gas amid a supply crunch.

Some people sleep like a rock 🪨.

Blinding sunshine & bitterly cold & strong wind.  Frost for the past mornings & likely to continue.

The fallen silver birch tree in our neighbour's garden (my post above from 19 Feb) was dismembered by a team yesterday morning.

Yesterday was the first really warm & sunny day this year.  Cleaned the gutters on the house from leaves & small twigs.

Now (3am) its frosty!

Decent gliding weather yesterday for the first day of our "Frühjahrsfliegen".

Light Westerly winds, dry & cumulus clouds.  A few of us went on short cross-country flights (I did a 153 km triangluar task within Schleswig-Holstein)

whilst the trainees made progress under the eyes of two instructors.

Freezing level was about 1000m.

I have to go into town tomorrow all dressed up. There is a 60% chance of rain. I do NOT want to get wet.😡

Almost as much as celery.

Sorely tempted to play the Chelsea fans' "Celery" chant but it may not sit well with some of the established TT members...

Buy hey-ho, you only live once and can only caress Tor's Ban Hammer once.

Celery! Celery!

And in the interests of full disclosure, even since the early 80s, no Chelsea fan knows how it originated, or even what it means.

But we just sing it when we're winning.

Which is quite often.
