Probably not the place for such a debate but imagine you replace the words "offended by everything" with "disabled" (or any other group that could be labelled as a minority). There may be deep seated, psychologically (and, consequentially, physically) damaging reasons why some people take offence to some things. We should all attempt to cater to these effects just like we cater to the effects of disabilities (or the effects of anything that could arise from belonging to a minority group).

It was taken from a humour thread on FB, referring to posts on the thread, seems some people just have to overthink things...

There is no place in today's society for humour, everyone these days has to be outraged and be a victim.

What a sad and soulless world this is turning into.

Whilst I do find the Roald Dahl thing to be strange and unnecessary, to say "there is no place in today's society for humour" is, ironically, laughable. Comedy is alive and well. As this thread, other threads, tv-shows, countless netflix comedy specials, etc etc etc can testify to.

Just because Bernard Manning isn't funny to anyone born after 1980 doesn't mean humour has gone.

Just because you shouldn't make a joke about "the P*kis" anymore doesn't mean humour has gone.

Sad and soulless? Give me break.

Wrong question.

"Cow's that?"

Now that's funny: From IMDb: "Kevin Norwood Bacon was born on July 8, 1958 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Ruth Hilda (Holmes), an elementary school teacher,"...

The principal might. Everybody below his income? Tough luck.

At the end of the day, I ended up putting fish-fingers in my soup to plump it out...

Why? Dentist:

Head and jaw clamped like an errant bicycle, molar drilled, crushed and pulled in four tactile splitting shudderings ...no real pain... the sound.. but the sound.. audible but in your head, ears, nose, and through your jaw bone,, and then a lovely picture on the ceiling... as the drugs course though my veins... felt like an oral Clockwork Orange victim.. spat out and a day and a half later, cheated a little on the no solids for 24 hours rule ;)
