watching the bumblebees at work in my garden

I have a large swath of japanese anemone that are going off right now, and the bumblebees LOVE it

they are so funny:  fly to a flower, drop in, then wiggle their butts and dance around and rub their wings together  "bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz  bzzzzzzzzbzzzzz bzbz bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz" then off to the next flower

remarkably loud - I can hear them quite well even in the apartment

so glad to see so many of them bopping around this year with their little legs fat with pollen payload - like wee golden saddlebags.

carry on, little friends, carry on!

Stalking you tonight, hoops!:D

It reminds me of an old Mexican joke: why did the man throw his wife out of his speeding car? Tequila.

Heaven v Hell

Heaven:

The police are British

The cooks are French

The engineers are German

The administrators are Swiss

The lovers are Italian

I heard this tune just now, took me back years to an innocent time.

Sunday lunchtime.  Cliff Michelmore and Jean Metcalfe.   Brought families and loved ones together momentarily.  Good times; so uncomplicated.    ‘In Town Tonight’ and ‘Journey Into Space’ where the space crew had to put on magnetic boots and they even had a cigarette after take off!   Lovely times.
