Universal Surfstick for Aldi-talk, O2, Lidl-talk

Hello,

 

I need internet access using surfstick / dongle for my short stay in Germany. For operators, my preferences are Aldi-talk, O2, Lidl-talk. I want to buy a surfstick (may be, from amazon or from Aldi / O2 store) first and then buy the Data SIM later from Aldi / O2 stores. Can you recommend me a universal surfstick that is not locked / stuck to only one operator. I need a surfstick that works fine for all these operators and I can change operators whenever I want. Is there any such surfstick - please advise. Also please advise where it (the surfstick) will be the cheapest? Thank you.

I got this one a while back, branded with the Pro7 TV network but the SIM card runs on the Vodafone network:

At least when I got mine (~2 years ago), the included surfstick was unlocked -- I've successfully used it with SIM cards from other providers (including other countries). But even if it's now locked, I think it's a pretty good deal if Vodafone covers your region well.

 

Alternatively if you have a smartphone, you may be able to tether it to your computer via USB without needing an extra dongle. Smartphone data plans tend to be cheaper as well.

Most surfsticks are no longer locked. They are so cheap to buy (and in most cases you have to buy them at list price) that there is no need for it.
