Or are you going to suggest that he photoshop his visa to give himself an extension?

What an ingenious idea!

You will not get a 24 month credit with a 1 year visa. Check with Saturn, they currently has a flexible 0% finanzing scheme. Their prices are same as that in Mediamarkt. You may be able to get the finanzing for the duration of your visa validity.

But not on credit if you just got here last month and you only have a resident permit until next December. Or are you going to suggest that he photoshop his visa to give himself an extension?

No smartass, I was going to suggest he forget any form of credit/payment plan and put off the idea of getting a phone until he can pay for it in full in cash.

What's with the one year visa dudes? 31.12.2015 is 2 years from now.

The problem is not especially with your visa. That was a red-herring that was propagated in the thread when someone thought it runs out next December - which clearly is not the case. The problem (if there really is one) is your lack of credit record or simple reticence to make the effort to provide the necessary paperwork which most companies will need before they loan you money. Bear in mind that the less checking they do, the higher the risk for them is, so the more expensive the loan to cover defaults. Making that effort at the outset will save you money in the long run.

Alles klar. I will of course try, nothing to lose. Will report later, in both cases.

Well spotted!

It amazes me that anyone would go to so much trouble to place an obviously useless link on a forum.

It is not a person doing this, it is a script, a program, doing it automatically.

That must be one hell of a script/program that can search for a slightly relevant thread in a forum, register in one name, post a question, register in a different name and respond the question with a link promoting something. All that for a post that is so obviously irrelevant spam and gets promptly deleted. If it is not an individual what idiot would think it worthwhile to write a program to do do such stupidity and what kind of business would pay for such promotion?

Spammers.   Do that thing one million times and some people will do click on the link.   Same with the spam/scam emails, you would ask who clicks on this and fells for it, well some do.

To what end though, for sure if someone is fooled into  opening an e-mail attachment or  disclosing information or passwords via a fake email with link, but what does the spammer or a business in the Philippines get from someone clicking ontheir link in a German English language forum?
