Middle Ages Tänzelfest in Kaufbeuren

The Tänzelfest in Kaufbeuren is on again, it runs from the 11th of July through the 22nd. Kaufbeuren is a beautiful old walled city, closer to Munich than Rothenburg and the Tänzelfest is quite special. I was there tonight and was very impressed. The Altstadt was packed - one could hardly walk through. Half the visitors are in medieval costume and there is music and dancing all over town. A very festive atmosphere and a lot of fun for all ages. (I'm not connected to it in any way, if I sound like a publicist!) On both Sundays is an extra long costume parade.
