@Badbob, have you ever read Sun Tzu? Do you know the history of The Napoleonic Wars, especially with reference to 1812? Do you even know who Kutuzov was? Surely you have heard of Hitler's Eastern Front? One thing is certain, US forces are currently overstretched to breaking point. An attack on Iran can only hasten the fall of the USA. 3. No stomach for more military engagement in any theatre by US 'allies', either to lighten the US load in Iraq/Afghanistan to enable US redeployment in Iran or to participate directly in an attack of Iran

4. Strong ties between Iran and China (and Russia)

5. Still a sky-high oil price/shakey economy (which would only get much worse with any Iran attack)
