No, I never changed my Toytown password. Why waste another perfectly good password on a buggy system?

Yep same here. Interestingly "haveibeenpwned" is not showning TT as having been breached but I have in the past received scam emails with "Hello keith2011" i.e. my unique, for me, TT username.

Yes, exactly this. I get mails claiming they filmed me watching porn (haha) and extorting bitcoin payments (nope!), using my TT nick and password as "proof" of having hacked my PC.
I know the software TT uses, and it's fairly easy to read out all sorts of info without having to break into the server. That's why I don't bother changing anything...

The thing to do is to make sure you do not use your TT password anywhere else, not even on porn sites.:D

That is just a list of publicly traded usernames and passwords which the people running the site have come across.  Not being on the list doesnt mean anything other than noone has sent the details of the breach.  Its not like every hacker immediately reports everything they achieve to the authorities.

Im pretty sure (read my old posts if you really want the details) that TT did get its user data stolen a couple of years back though The Management strongly objected to this assertion.

FWIW your email address/username neednt have come from Toytown.  Its possible that someone who knows you from here has you in their address book with your TT name and their address book got leaked. If for example anyone you know uses yahoo mail, your details are almost certain to now be leaked.

You maybe right but given that it is not just me (ref. the complaints of several years ago) and the comments by @Metall on the software, I would suggest on balance that TT was the culprit.

I don´t even know my TT password! It´s scribbled down somewhere in an old " Heft...". Old-fashioned pen and paper!

TPTB will prolly come along, call me names, and kick my butt for saying such a thing, but yes, I stand by it. ;)

And again but a bit different today.... I got an early call (8 am) with a country code of Belgium (0032), silence then a female machine voice said "Goodbye". Not sure if it is related but around 30 mins later I got the classic I'm calling you from MS (women with sub-continent accent, call centre but well spoken with good quality audio)  I hung up as usual after the end of the spiel only to have her call back almost instantly to which I politely told her to not call again and hung up but the same woman called a third time to ask me why. I told her I knew it was a con and asked how did she feel about being a criminal. No further call back so far, all 3 calls came from different numbers but with a German 02* area code.

Since you picked up the first call at 8, I'd conjecture that was the test if the number was live, leading to the later MS call.

Of late, I've been receiving numerous emails about my Apple ID.  I have no Apple products.  Similar but different.  I suppose it's a matter of time before they start ringing me.
