He probably would follow the motto "Ring first, read later"  (retired Deutschlehrer - the useless sort).

My wife has already told him at least once NOT to call/ring during Rentnermittagesschlafzeit...

I do too normally, but yesterday I forgot due to mental and emotional stress (anxiety) because injured elderly cat needs special attention. My whole routine is turned upside down at the moment. Mocrosoft caller called again today, this time earlier in the morning. I sniped at her.

I got one of those calls today. I said I don’t have a computer. Then he tried to gaslight me saying I am crazy and that’s impossible. I snapped and hung up. 

 

My computer hasn’t been on in weeks and I only use a tablet or phone. So annoying.

Thanks for all the kind comments concerning my cat. I'm happy to say he's on the mend now, tough old boy. And Microsoft callers didn't bother me yesterday at all. I probably frightened them.

I put the number on my black list. Systematically. And put the phone down without speaking. I take the view I did not give them my number or invite them to waste my time but I have stopped being nasty to those who are just doing a crap job.

I do not believe in dropping hints. Totally ineffective. Just say what needs to be said.

HEM your neighbour is at best partially willfully deaf and you need to say it louder . Maybe put it on a piece of paper for him to take away and ponder over if it continues. Yes, really, I would be that assertive. And no, it is not passive-aggressive just because it is on paper. He needs to respect your privacy.

These are not just people in some call centre trying to sell you something, though cold calling is anyway forbidden in Germany. What we are talking about here is out and out criminals, no innocents and most of the victims of their now very old scam are the elderly and vulnerable and they are a bloody nuisance to the rest of us, be nasty to them please!
