No- thin and crispy is the best!  Also, wrapping bacon around roast chicken- lecker. Plus mini Nuernburgers wrapped in bacon. ( Cannot find chipolatas!)

Personal taste I guess :P

I prefer English bacon. Cooked well but not crispy.

Sadly very very hard to buy in Germany!:(

Chipolatas. I miss them, but yes Nürnburgers are a good substitute. Fried tomatoes, fried eggs... Think I will have a fry up Saturday. not forgetting the mushrooms!

Anyone remember this:-

?

Came across this the other day in my local (Schleswig-Holstein) Supermarkt.

Quite sweet really- more like chutney.

Somewhat bacony - but not as much as I'd hoped for.

You can be walking along, not a care in the world, then you smell bacon frying.  Brain freezes, eyes glaze, mouth drops, drool drips, OOooooooooo, Stomach rumbles, you can taste it in the smell OOOOOOoooooo, Where is it  ?  Then you wake up.. S.it.   Try to go back to sleep to Baconland but it never happens. Was it a dream or a nightmare ?

Have you ever tried burgers with a cutlet in bacon? It's very fatty, but it is worth it.

I miss you, bacon.

I buy Ja! brand bacon because i̶t̶'̶s̶ ̶w̶h̶a̶t̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶r̶e̶ ̶i̶s it's easiest.  Taste is great, but they are cut way too thin. Bacon at that price in a 100g package is kind of a joke as well.

Next time I'll switch to Tulip brand.

I miss American bacon, but the Tulip brand suits my purposes. It’s probably better for me anyway. Although, when I have friends (that work for the US government) that stay over for the beer fests in Munich, I charge them a fee of American bacon from the commissary.

As a nice change to bacon, I like to fry up some South Tyrollean Speck. You have to watch it because it’s thin, but so good. The Lidl brand, Dulano is nice. I had it served this way in Tyrol in Italy.

Can’t stand UK bacon, sorry!
