Areas in Nuremberg with character

3 posts in this topic

Hi, merge me if you like, but I couldn't actually find a thread suggesting areas to live in Nuremberg (maybe the information is hidden in a thread with a different title; I thought I had seen some somwhere before).

So anyway, I'm considering moving to Nuremberg. I'd want to live within reasonable distance of the Hauptbahnhof, as I'd be commuting some of the time for work, and visiting friends in Munich regularly.

Now, I'm sure that most parts of Nuremberg are safe and fine to live in. But are there particular central areas which have more charm than others? Or some formerly "run-down" areas which are becoming more popular?

I have seen an apartment in Ludwigsfeld which looks lovely (in the ad, at least). Any opinions on that area?

I would recommed Schoppershof, its a great lively area . that is only about a 15-20 min walk to the city centre and the train station & 3-4 U-bahn stops. There is a lot going on , and i have never had any issues with noise , people or neighbours. There are plenty of shops , pubs , resteurants.

Johannis is the most desirable place to live , but it comes with a hefty price tag for not a lot of apartment
