Roleplaying in Frankfurt

Are there any other expat or English-speaking tabletop roleplayers in Frankfurt? And, yes, I mean like Dungeons & Dragons. :)

Hi Doradora,

I have sent you a private message with my email, I am a roleplayer too and played a lot of tabletop games over the years and right now I had a moment of stall, but am picking up slowly.

I have found a small-ish group with whom to play,

let me know,

Ciao

I IM'd you.. what a pity there aren't more roleplayers around in the English-speaking community! It would have been fun to have a big, geeky meetup. :)

20 years as a roleplayer here. One of those guys who started with the legendary Dungeons & Dragons "Red Box". Into D&D (obviously), Cyberpunk 2020, all White Wolf games (especially Mage and Werewolf), Shadowrun and pretty much everything. Not a huge fan of the Call of Cthulhu RPG or 4th+ edition D&D. :)

Hi Reyne,

I have sent you a PM with my contact details, I would be interested if you and I would meet/chat/talk to discuss eventual game possibilities,

It would be cool to increase the circle that I already have (we are 3, sometimes 4 at the mo)

Hallo good fellows,

I am also a roleplayer, and yes I do mean D&D et al. i would be interested in joining in, since I recently arrived in the area.

To tell the truth, I would rather find a goup closer to Darmstadt / Griesheim/ Weiterstadt, as that's where I live. Any interest?

Cheers / Vale

Icko

At least this topic is not falling to nurses/doctors (unlike previous one).

Voltumna is talking about our small group, although we fail to gather to play during last 2 months (I was out of the country, so i have an excuse, but you don't have one ;P).

My wife and myself are, unlike Rayne, i'm not into White Wolf games, and more into COC or Kult, Voltumna runs CP202 game now, while our another player - Janina, is more into L5R. We preffer to play at my place (Bad Homburg), Voltumna lives in Bad Viebel, while Janina in Frankfurt.

There is also an English speaking 4ed D&D group supervised by Jim. In fact i never met them, but they looked cooperative on email. My wife didn't sound cooperative to play D&D on the weekend.

Well Merl,

indeed I was talking about our small group,

unfortunately as you mentioned, we do not meet often enough but I have to say that I might have had a break-through and should be able to increase my outings:)

D&D 4th ed is really not my style, but i am melancolicly attached to AD&D and in a certain way, to D&D3rd ed, although I heard Pathfinder is like that too. The settings of D&D that I prefer are 1- Birthright (it is soooo Game Of Thrones! and came out way before game of thrones) and 2-Dragonlance, it is such a classic I find and Dark Sun is cool too. Ravenloft can be cool, although I find it hard to be sometimes. And that is it.

Just to make this post also more searchable ;) here is a list of settings that I have GM'd:

CyberPunk 2020 (I HATE Cybergeneration and dislike Cyberpunk 3.0 and love the Fuzion system)

Shadowrun

Fading Suns

AD&D - DragonLance

- Birthright

- Ravenloft

- Council of Wyrms

- Planeshift

- Dark Sun

Rêve de Dragon (Dream Ourobouros)

Lex Arcana

Figli dell'Olocausto

WOD - Werewolf the Apocalypse

- Vampire the Masquerade

- Mage the Assention

Exaulted

Warhammer

James Bond (yes! the RPG)

and played all the ones I GMd+

Wasteworld

Zero

Pendragon

Rifts

Palladium

Ars Magica

I might have left some out, sorry, but these are the ones that come into my mind :)

Ciao

This thread is quite old, but did you guys ever form a group or find a group? My son, who is 29, and his wife just moved to Germany and they are very interested in meeting up with other people for D & D, though I think that they play other things, as well

Let me also post it in this thread. I'm looking for a small group of players (2-3) to play test some conversion rules I'm working on.

The project:

Personally I'm a big fan of Shadowrun, especially the game system itself. My wife however prefers other settings (either high fantasy or space - or both like in Dragonstar [d20 system D&D in space]. So I started working on converting SR rules to be used for other settings and should soon be done with the "fantasy" version thereof. Future projects include "Oriental Adventures", Steampunk (both can be done quickly), possibly some Rifts (love the setting but absolutely loath Palladium system rules - conversions would be more or less limited to the 1st ed. core though) and eventually the space campaign (that would take a bit longer).

So now I'm looking for a small group of players willing to playtest my conversions with us.

- Games will be played in English, but of course we both do know German so don't worry if your English is not perfect.

- We can host a small group of people at our flat at Eschenheimer Anlage (about 5 - 10 min walk from either Konstabler Wache or Hauptwache)

- The setting we play can be discussed amongst players and GM (that would be me) from the options above.

- I call it a play test, but I am hoping it will be turning into a long term campaign played every 2 weeks on the weekend

about us

- I have played RPGs since 1988, mostly as a game master. During this time I have played AD&D (DM & player), D&D 2.0 (DM & player),D&D 3.5 (DM) - including some OGL stuff, Shadowrun 3 (player), Shadowrun 4 (GM & player), Rifts (GM & player), Ninjas & Superspies (Palladium - GM), GURPS 3 (GM & player), GURPS 4 (GM). I introduced my wife to RPGs when we first met 10 years ago, she has tried DMing some D&D in between but mostly participated as a player in my campaigns

If you are interested, best way to reach me would be by e-mail switt1313(at)yahoo(dot)ca (please mind the "ca", it is a Canadian yahoo address if you send it to yahoo(dot)com or to the German version I will not get your message).

Wow, imagine my surprise when I decided on a whim to check out Toytown Germany for any way to meet up with other English-speakers for some tabletop gaming, and someone mentions they're looking for some opportunities for their son and his wife after just moving here to Darmstadt.

@deena9275 (if you're still reading this thread): I'm in Darmstadt and would definitely be interested. Did you ever find any English-speaking tabletop groups here in Darmstadt? If so, could you send me a PM? :D Or really, anyone in the Darmstadt area who's looking for something like this?

Hello!

I'd love to play some high-fantasy setting again, it's been a few years! Would love to give Pathfinder another chance after only playing it a few months, but am open to the 5th edition of D&D. Anyone has a spot in their gaming group? I can play in both English and Italian.

Hi everyone,

Relative newbie here to d&d although I have started playing with a guy who has taken me under his wing to learn the ropes as it were.

Would be interested in joining a group in or around Frankfurt if there are more English groups going.

I'm also happy to host if location is a problem. I live near Offenbach.

Thanks!
