Posted 27 Aug 2012 10-15 years ago The 7 was one of my main haunts. It was a hole one could guarantee damn fine music and dangerous women in, and twas but a mere crawl away from my then apartment. I even got barred from it. I've licked Marmite off Mrs. Riina's fingers there, and lots of other stuff too unmentionable on a family web forum. And still the bomb didn't go off!!!
Posted 27 Aug 2012 Luckily it was discovered before some poor worker accidently detonated it. Five hundred odd pounds of high explosive would definately ruin soneone's neighborhood. Because of the tonnage of bombs that were dropped on Germany during WWII this will unfortunately be a problem for years to come.

Posted 27 Aug 2012 So gutted, I just went out to go grab a McDonalds from the Munchner Freiheit one and literally could get nowhere near Mü-Fr. No late night fast food for me I guess it serves me right for being greedy.
Posted 27 Aug 2012 For the last 1/2 an hour or so I keep on hearing what sounds like a police car going up and down Leopaldstrasse in Schwabing with a tannoy going. I know it starts "Actung, actung" and mentions something about the street, but I can't get any of the rest of it.. Does anyone know what it is saying? Is it something I need to worry about? Posted 27 Aug 2012 Just an update for anyone still reading. I have just seen an article, and a friend on Hesseloherstr has filled me in. They tried to defuse the bomb at 8.30 as planned, after half hour had problems. The bomb will now be blown ON THE SPOT at dawn tomorrow. Evacuation radius is now 600m. Good luck to anyone living close! :(

Posted 27 Aug 2012 So I wonder who the guilty party is, the Royal Air Force or the U.S. Army Air Corps? Those explosive ordnance technicians have testicles the size of grapefruit and nerves of steel, either that or they are just flat crazy. :P
Posted 28 Aug 2012 According to the absolutely hilarious google translation that Pandamunich supplied in post #14, can't say who's responsible, but it is of US origin.
