Another fantastic day at Hiking. Was adventerous and exciting to hike next to a waterfall and then also cross it using rope.

Thanks M.S for organising. Looking forward to more such tours from you.

Cheers

Well done for organising things MS!

Such a pity that Shorty is maybe still too short for such fun outings - still, we ended up in the rope garden, so it was a good day out for us too!

Oh, I didn´t realise you were going out this Thursday again - Shorty is with Papa this week, but I arranged last night to be on duty with the FFW on Thursday. :(

This isn´t meant, to be, is it?

Have fun!

Tour Date: Thursday 07. June

Rottach-Egern (800m) - Bodenschneid (1667m) - Upper Firstalm (1369m) - Brecherspitz (1683m) - Neuhaus (800m)

Tour description (medium difficulty):

Height difference: approx 1250m

Distance: 12,5km

There is a shortcut possible to shorten the tour down to 800m height difference. From Upper Firstalm directly down to Spitzingsattel and with a Bus to Neuhaus-Fischbach BOB station, skipping Brecherspitz.

We take the BOB train to Tegernsee and then a Bus to Rottach-Egern (Stop at Enterottach Mautstation). Then we hike a trail through forrest up until we reach the peak of Bodenschneid at 1667m. This will be the hardest part with 800m of ascent at once, often steep. After a short break we go down to the upper Firstalm at 1369m (http://www.firstalm.de/) and have lunch.

After lunch we hike up to Brecherspitz (Or if you don't want to go further you can hike directly down to Spitzingsee). First on a trail trough grass, after that there are a lot of rocks and a narrow ridge to climb over, until we get to the peak of Brecherspitz. Short break there an then we hike down to Neuhaus-Fischbach BOB train station which takes us back to Munich (between 18:00 and 19:00).

Meeting point:

Munich HBF Main Station on Thursday 07. June shortly before 8:00 on Gleis 30 in front of the BOB ticket office. We take the BOB train at 8:10 to Tegersee. We intend to use one or several Bayern-Tickets

Who can come?

Everyone who can manage a 7 hour hike with 4 hours of ascent. If you want to take the shortcut it will be near to 6 hours with nearly 3 hours of ascent.

Ascent to Brecherspitz requires a bit climbing over rocks on a narrow ridge. So don't be afraid of heights, as it may go down steep next to it :-)

Here are some images of what we can expect:
