Police clearance for migration to another country

6 posts in this topic

Im in the process of migrating to Australia and I need a police clearance from any place I lived in for more than 6 months. Has anyone done this? Whats the procedure? Though im still going to be here for 2 more months and me thinks I will have to get it done just before I leave i.e. incase I make the hitlist during that period but just want to be prepared for what has to be done.

You go to the police office, tell them you need a document that says you have no criminal record here in Germany. Pay your money and get it.

I don't know if they mail it to you or if you get it right there and then, but it's pretty straight-forward.

It's called "Polizeiliches Führungszeugnis" I believe and they charge you an administrative fee of €13.

More information here (only in German tho): Führungszeugnis

You can just go to the KVR or your local Bürgerbüro.

go to your local rathaus & they would arrange this for you, of course for a small fee. You would get it by mail in 3-4 weeks of time.

Hey guys,

I'm going to need one soon so I will go to the Auslaenderamt and see what happens from there.

There is a lot of information, in English, on this website: BfJ Website
