Renewal of Indian Passport in Berlin

At present apply for your job visa, you might get it only up to July 2014 as your passport expires thereafter. There is hardly any time, although preferred, for you to renew your passport before your job visa. You have to have at least 2 months in hand (may be more) for that process. After you get your job visa go to the responsible Indian consulate and renew your passport!

Hi,

after getting new passport what happens to old one? Is my residence permit visa still valid? Do I have to inform German authorities about new passport. I am going to collect my passport tomorrow and I am planning to go to India shortly. Your inputs will be helpful thanks in advance.
