The process may name itself anything, but most people running the application will refer to it as the name of the menu item.

Whatever. I and the people that I have worked with in the past 7 years call it explorer.

 

In XP, the "menu item" says Explore.

Sorry this is a losing battle, most people wouldn't refer to it as anything since it isn't run by them and they don't even know how to look at the list of processes running.

 

People who do know what they are talking about would not be confused if you refered to it as 'explorer', pretty common...
