the problem with that is that actually no one has anything good to say about him.  Not his wives, mistresses or victims of sexual harassment and/or assault.

 

Everything he has "achieved" has been on someone else's dime and usually resulted in someone else being bilked or disadvantaged (as is the way in Manhattan real estate and the gambling industry).  Self-serving and to advance his own profits and prosperity.  Not really the profile of a model politician (although not by any means an uncommon one).

 

In fact, anyone who has anything good to say about the man usually is in support of one of his hateful undertakings.  They think it's a good thing to fuck up diplomatic relations and sever ties with previously friendly nations.  They think immigrants don't deserve any better than having their families split up and their babies sleeping in cages like animals.

 

So tell me, where is the Trump in this scenario who is the misunderstood, henpecked model father?  What good has he done for anybody but himself, ever?  When has he acted in our collective interest, for the greater good?  I suppose that, like everything else in politics, is subjective.  But when the greater good comes at such a human cost, how can anyone pretend he is one of the good guys?  Liberals raising taxes on the privileged to pay teachers' salaries and fund access to low-cost health care facilities is not the same thing as putting babies in cages.

And before anyone chimes in with a BSAB argument, I was not that much of an Obama fan either.  He never shut down Guantanamo and I still do not forgive him for it.  Among other things I was always skeptical and in hindsight remain unimpressed.  But he did at least have a history of community advocacy behind him.  There were at least a couple of things on his resume that weren't undertaken for the sole service of his own bank account and/or business dealings.

 

What has the Don done for the figurative kids?  Serious question.  Saving hillbillies a couple of cents a year in taxes so they can de-fund Planned Parenthood doesn't count.

I honestly don't know what came over me.  Maybe election year is getting to me and I'm really scared Trump is going to be re-elected.  I have typed out his name probably fewer than five times in the last four years.  Gaberlunzi can't even vote in the US + other reasons why writing in here was basically pointless.  sigh...

Trump may not be a kind soul and be everything you said, but he prevented ww3 for the last 4 years (so far) which I'm almost think would have happened. Besides, what the opposition offered was and IS not much better in the character picture. As one who has been in local politics for more than a decade, I could sing a song of defamation. I can extrapolate to Trump's or any other national figure and bet I would not be far off with a fair judgement. However, things are as they are and whatever happens does not affect me that much anymore as I know my days are numbered. Only, I would like to not see a ww3 in my last days, WW2 was enough.(for your sake and all people)

Is anyone with a US citizenship considering abandoning it?  I voted via mail but I'm not so certain my navigational correction will stir change there.  Maybe I've been stuck here too long but things there seem messed up.
