English-speaking doctors in Stuttgart

9 posts in this topic

Hi everyone,

I live in Stuttgart and I need to visit a doctor (just a general practioner). Does anyone know of any good English speaking doctors in the Stuttgart area? I was thinking there might be some in Vaihingen near Patch Barracks but I'm not sure. I also need one that I can use my Krankenversicherung (health insurance) card for so I have to pay no or very little fees. Can you help me? Thanks!

I went to Dr. Gisela Dahl in Moehringen, she can speak English, Spanish and French in addition to German.

I only went once, so can't really say if she's recommendable or not, but she's nice.

Dr Dahl is nice and speaks very good English, but as an older lady, she has very old fashioned views on how medicine should be approached. Also if you need to have blood tests done you can only have them done before 9am, if your appointment is after that and it requires a blood test you have to come back the next morning.

Here is a list of GP's I cannot vouch for any of them but they are all listed as able to speak English, you can ask if they accept your particular insurance when you call for an appointment.

Hi there,

I have also had a visit to Dr. Michael Gessing. I can see why everyone recommends him. He is very friendly and speaks great English. However, I then moved to Vaihingen and his office was too far. I was then recomended Dr. Wolfgang Streit through a German friend of mine. He is also friendly, very professional, speaks German,French and excellent English. What impressed me the most though, is that Dr. Streit called me on a Sunday evening to give me my blood results (without me having to ask for them). Most Dr.s offices make you chase up your test results and can be difficult to get hold of the dr. on occasions.

Dr. Streit's contact and address:

Robert-Leicht Str. 15

70563 Vaihingen-Stuttgart

Tel: 0711/ 7 8282 48

GOOD LUCK!

Does anyone have any recommendations of English speaking GP doctors that are FEMALE (bad experiences as a child, and really stupid doctors throughout life after that, makes me unable to be comfortable with all doctors, but especially male doctors)? It needs to be someone easy to get to by public transportation from Stuttgart city-center (doesn't need to be IN Stuttgart city center, but should be within the 2-zone limit for my train ticket, and with limited train/bus transfers).

I have a few things to see a GP about, but I will also need allergy testing done (for airborne allergies AND food allergies)... :-(

Thank you in advance for any help you can offer!
