Why do so many people find it so easy to totally ignore me?

Sorry, what?

When will everything be ok?

I dunno!

Thanks to the three people who haven´t totally ignored me this evening - I love you all!

(I guess the other 200 or so are ignoring me, as usual!)

I'm just home after laying out $100 to send birthday presents to Germany. Here's my question:

Would you rather have presents from home or cash?

Even with the dreadful dollar:Euro exchange rate, I think my children would have come off better if I added the postage to the cost of the presents (about $150) and transferred the money to their banks.

What does the board think?

@ Katheliz, cash is always useful, to say the least, and especially if it's your children you are sending it to.

On the other hand, on your Birthday it really is nice to at elast have one little present to open - maybe something you could pop into an envelope and send over!

If both children are here, and mature enough, why not get them to help you with buying things locally and wrapping them up as presents?

I would rather have the cash then have the money wasted on postage. That said, in todays internet world, one can have stuff ordered overseas at the fraction of the cost of shipping. Think Amazon.de instead of Amazon.com. I would dearly love to have a gift certificate for all kinds of stores and it is easy to do.

Have even emailed restaurants in the states and had them send a gift certificate to my mom, and just had it put on my credit card, including the local postage. This would probably work from the US to here too, if you find the right places.

Is the Tour de France the most boring and gay sport?

No, that's still football (soccer)
