Wikileaks and conspiracy theories

36 posts in this topic

hi,

curious on how many people might be changing their views on all the "wacko" conspiracy theories that some TT members put out there now that there is a strong possibility that what was said could have documented proof of being entirely correct.

from threads such as these...

Conspiracy theorists

What is the name for this mental illness?

I just want to know why building 7 went down on 9/11. Hopefully, that knowledge will help with why the other two buildings went down into their own footprint before it did.

Dude, don't be so ignorant of the world around you. There is this nice little Aussie guy that is buying up media outlets all over the world and he has an agenda. Also, you don't really believe that media outlets in Russia aren't "controlled" do you?

There is also this Italian guy who owns the media in his country and became the head of that country.

As for Republicans controlling the media? I wonder who Bush put on the board of the body that controls NPR and VOA? I wonder why VOA has had its budget slashed to nothing and NPR is under heavy pressure to be less independent and why the Republican Congress tried to pass laws to slash its independence.

I also tend to remember a certain bought and paid for reporter sent out by the White House to promote its agenda.

Want me to go on or have you been schooled enough?

Well said, Sin. I couldnt agree more. I am especially bothered by fellas who think that 911 was some evil Bush-clan conspiracy and then go ahead believing every word the government or financial times have to say about the current economic situation and its root causes or the need for a new defense system ... Like its all going to be fair, good and true again as soon as we get rid of the evil bushies

====================================================

... and my favorite(s) are how much of the governments are controlled by corporations, which corporations are linked to each other, and which ones are linked to goverment sanctioned entities such as the WHO and the FDA and the inner workings and close ties, and ceo switching between the mentioned groups including them and seats in congress.

interesting research...

One of my fave journalists - one who actually reports the truth, is Dave Mcgowan. He writes extensively about 9/11. He is witty, brave

and his arguments that 9/11 was an inside job are very compelling. He has a website called Center for an Informed America.

I haven't heard from him in a while. Hope he is OK.

My favorite conspiracy theory is that most conspiracy theories are started by governments to hide the real conspiracies. ;-)

I guess that shows what a twisted mind I have!!

This is why I hold a smidgeon of scepticism that these Wikileaks are The Hitler Diaries of our times.

Hope he's OK? If he's stupid enough to think that 9/11 was an inside job he obviously wasn't OK already - in fact I'd say he's seriously delusional.

The reason you "haven't heard from him in a while" is because with the election of Obama the trail has gone cold and everyone's switched over to proving that climate change is a scam devised by governments as an excuse for raising taxes. Get with the programme!

and this bit ...

"In 2000, Metropolitan Life Insurance Company (MetLife) launched the seventh largest IPO ever held in the United States.

In 2001, MetLife was the first insurance company to establish a financial holding company with a nationally chartered bank. Leveraging its unparalleled distribution channels, MetLife entered the retail-banking arena with the launch of MetLife Bank.[citation needed]

In 2001, immediately after the September 11th terrorist attacks, MetLife invested $1 billion in the US stock market[citation needed].

The MetLife Headquarters building was featured in Spider-Man: The Movie (game), released in 2002."

got there from here ....

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Travelers_Insurance

"In the 1990s, it went through a series of mergers and acquisitions. It was bought by Primerica in 1993,[8] but the resulting company retained the Travelers name. In 1995 it became The Travelers Group.[7] It bought Aetna's property and casualty business in 1996.[9]

In 1998, the Travelers Group merged with Citicorp to form Citigroup.[8] However, the synergies between the banking and insurance arms of the company did not work as well as planned, so Citigroup spun off Travelers Property and Casualty into a subsidiary company in 2002,[10] although it kept the red umbrella logo. Three years later, Citigroup sold Travelers Life & Annuity to MetLife.[11] In 2003, Travelers bought renewal rights for Royal & SunAlliance Personal Insurance and Commercial businesses.[12]"

it would seem from the first paragraph that they help in the decline of the us real estate fuck up.

and was there from this ....

Citicorp

The history begins with the City Bank of New York, which was chartered by New York State on June 16, 1812, with $2 million of capital. Serving a group of New York merchants, the bank opened for business on September 14 of that year, and Samuel Osgood was elected as the first President of the company.[14] The company's name was changed to The National City Bank of New York in 1865 after it joined the new U.S. national banking system, and it became the largest American bank by 1895.[14] It became the first contributor to the Federal Reserve Bank of New York in 1913,

and was there from this page ;) ...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Occidental_Petroleum_Corporation#cite_note-37

Occidental Petroleum Corporation (Oxy) is an American oil and gas exploration and production company with operations in the United States, the Middle East, North Africa, and South America. The company nickname “Oxy” began in 1964

with...

In 2005, Occidental was among 53 entities which contributed the maximum of $250,000 to the second inauguration of President George W. Bush.[3][4][5] In 2008, Oxy contributed $301,579 to Democratic candidates and $204,587 to Republican candidates.[6]

and...

Occidental’s growth strategy in oil and gas relies on three components: enhanced oil recovery (EOR), exploration and acquisitions. Occidental’s oil and gas operations are focused in three core areas, the United States, the Middle East/North Africa, and South America. Occidental had approximately 3.23 billion barrels of oil equivalent net proved reserves at December 31, 2009.[7]

also...

Oil shale

Between 1972 and 1991, Occidental Oil Shale, Inc., a subsidiary of Occidental Petroleum, developed a shale oil extraction process

along with this page ....

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phibro_Corporation

"The company was founded in 1901[2][3][4] as Philipp Brothers.[5] It was later acquired and became the Philipp Brothers Division of Engelhard Minerals & Chemicals Corporation. In 1981, the company was spun off as Phibro Corporation, and that same year the company subsequently acquired Salomon Brothers, creating Phibro-Salomon Inc.[6] Phibro Energy, Inc. was established in 1984, absorbing the oil department of Philipp Brothers. In 1986, the combined company removed the Phibro name from the parent company.[7] In 1993, Phibro Energy, Inc. became the Phibro Energy Division of Salomon Inc.[8] It was renamed to simply "Phibro" in 1996, and in 1997, Salomon was acquired by Travelers Group, which merged with Citicorp to form Citigroup in 1998.[7] With the merger, Salomon became an indirect, wholly-owned subsidiary of Citigroup."

and was there because of this ...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Salomon_Brothers

because they are the renters of world trade centre 7 and would seem that the "new" owners of the corporation did extensive renovations to this building...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/7_World_Trade_Center

In November 1988, Salomon Brothers withdrew from plans to build a large new complex at Columbus Circle in Midtown and agreed to a 20-year lease for the top 19 floors of 7 World Trade Center.[22] The building was extensively renovated in 1989 to accommodate the needs of Salomon Brothers.[23] Most of three existing floors were removed as tenants continued to occupy other floors, and more than 350 tons (U.S.) of steel were added to construct three double-height trading floors. Nine diesel generators were installed on the 5th floor as part of a backup power station. "Essentially, Salomon is constructing a building within a building - and it's an occupied building, which complicates the situation," said a district manager of Silverstein Properties. The unusual task was possible, said Larry Silverstein, because it was designed to allow for "entire portions of floors to be removed without affecting the building's structural integrity, on the assumption that someone might need double-height floors."[23]

hmmm... now lets see what all this has to do with lithium mining...
