There was plenty of snow, hot tea, and cake in Balderschwang today - so it was perfect. :-)

Many thanks for organising and driving us there and back safely, eva434 and Small Town Boy!

We were facing some difficulties when taking our group picture. ;-)

Another great day out today, a fun group, and flawless organising by Small Town Boy.

2015/2016 season review

A slushy end to a season that was far too warm throughout. After starting on schedule on the first advent weekend, the snow quickly melted away again and December was characterised by warm and dry weather, by the New Year forcing us onto artificial snow for the first time. It wasn't until the second week of January that we could ski on real snow again. While it was much too warm (figures for Munich compared to 30-year average: Dec: +3.4°C, Jan: +2.3°C, Feb +4.1) – in fact it was the fourth mildest winter since records began in 1761 – January and February were at least wet (Dec: 33%, Jan: 147%, Feb: 138%), meaning sufficient snow at higher altitudes. An average March allowed us to keep skiing until the second week of April, so we just managed more tours than the disaster winter of 2013/14.

Thanks to all those who came despite the lack of a winter in Munich and especially to those who helped organise. Here's hoping for a better season next year – only seven months to go!
