Student Business Card

10 posts in this topic

So I'm hitting up this trade fair in November, which can be a very good opportunity to network with people from across the pond. However it has become apparent that even though I'm a student I should have a business card/networking card. So I thought I would ask TT for some advice on what would be appropriate on a students networking card and if anyone can recommend a good printing service.

My basic thought is, less is more, I'm a student not some fancy ass business person. Simple name in the center with my university and field of study below and in the bottom right my email and phone and bottom left my address. Anyway as said any advice is welcome.

Just did a quick price comparison, and it looks like print24.de is actually cheaper than buying the paper. Is 300g heavy enough though?

Yes, easily. A standard sheet of paper is 80g, so that will be 3-3/4 times the thickness.

I can definitely second Minga's comment about Vistaprint. Have used them for years, in many countries, and their stuff always looks great. Much better than printing them yourself - a bit more stylish and professional and FREE.

I am a fan of Vistaprint but would not take the "free" otpion for networking. The promo message on the back is fine for personal use but not too great for professional imho - 15 Eur or whatever to avoid that is better.

Business cards work in my experience. Under-rated as a form of contact in these internet days.
