Rugby - Lions tour of New Zealand

237 posts in this topic

did i say 15pts? i meant to say 30. :P

sounds like improvements certainly just far too late. the commentry i was listening to seemed to think it was oh so important to have such an improvement - what, by the end of the 2nd test! what a joke, the games in between are for practice. the whole attitude is just wrong.

glad we're quits Flogger. ;)

edit: new lions player!!!

I have to say well done All Blacks...

Wat a performance...and good bye to Sir Clive after next saturdays game. Dan Carter was superb and showed why he is the best flyhalf in the world.

Oh how I love my All Blacks!!!

My quote from the 26th on this thread:

Next week could be a worse defeat - you heard it here first.

It was in fact the highest points scored against the Lions by NZ ever, and 2 points away from the highest winning margin.

Ho hum - what to spend my wicked €130 winnings on now...

why the fffffffffffffffffffffffff was jason white only allowed to play for 54mins? by all accounts he put in some big hits and didnt do anything wrong.

24hrs flying out there and 24hrs back and he gets 54mins game time. if i were him id have walked up the tunnel and punched the coach in the face. its a nonsense!!!

here is an interesting match day diary

i like the last 2 paras. true words.

"

Everyone is happy at what we achieved but we still have the feeling of unfinished business. We need to send them home to think about a few things and maybe come back more respectful next time.

They haven’t shown much respect to us with the way they’ve been playing and the things they have done on the field so we want to make it a clean sweep this Saturday. "

i find it still astonishing but not unexpected the recent team sheet for this final test.

i find the way Cusitor has been treated as deplorable. Bulloch hasn't also done much wrong but instead we have the usual shite on the bench.

This week I hope the thrashing is even more than before, who is with me!?

--------------------

Lions: Geordan Murphy (Ireland); Mark Cueto (England), Will Greenwood (England), Gareth Thomas (Capt, Wales), Josh Lewsey (England); Stephen Jones (Wales), Dwayne Peel (Wales); Gethin Jenkins (Wales), Steve Thompson (England), Julian White (England); Donncha O'Callaghan (Ireland), Paul O'Connell (Ireland); Simon Easterby (Ireland), Lewis Moody (England), Ryan Jones (Wales).

Replacements: Shane Byrne (Ireland), Graham Rowntree (England), Martin Corry (England), Martyn Williams (Wales), Matt Dawson (England), Ronan O'Gara (Ireland), Shane Horgan ( Ireland).

--------

once again the 2 finger salute to the scots from the pathetic coaching staff.

Well I'm glad to say this debacle is over. start to finish, twas a farce.

I bet the queen feels a tit for giving him a knighthood now. Woodward and his favours for the old school ruined the tour. Perhaps if they didn't take several hundred players they might have played a bit more coherently.

and not dissing you taffs, but where was the Welsh flair we were waiting for? poor.

i read today that woodward says in future he would reckon taking MORE players is a good idea.

all i can say is thank goodness he is going to football. I hope saints do shit.

and to finish how i started, Go All Blacks...

I was thinking precisely the same thing. Also proves that it was the English players who won the WC, not Clivey boy.

several hundred players

plus a back-up team twice the size.

Man Woodward is an idiot...look are wot he said as a parting shot...

"I don't think there's any gulf between the northern hemisphere and the southern hemisphere. Who holds the World Cup at the moment?" the coach who won it with England asked.

nice link Kiwistylz.

this only just goes to show further that woodward is the biggest tool in the box.

i mean really, what does he expect to achieve with that line there apart from further annoying ex-Lions fans like me and the other knowledgeable ones? ;-)

there is a massive gulf between north and south

the only reasons england won WC:

- Wilkinson's boot.

- Australia bottling it

the lions tours are all about pride and playing for the badge, england and the WC have fuck all to do with it. so much for his "they are all lions now" ravings when the squad got together, apparently through and through they are england in disguise.

woodward is the most disrespectful piece of shit ive ever seen.

I propose he is stripped of his knighthood and its given to Wee Mun.

"New Zealand were worthy winners against the Lions but it is difficult to tell how good Graham Henry's side is because it wasn't really tested."

-Zinzan Brooke

"The tour has been a massive anti-climax. Sir Clive Woodward claimed it was the best-prepared team to leave Britain but I would dispute that."

-Martin Bayfield

Anyone know any details of the next tour, stuff like this? I know nowt.
