Perhaps this better belongs here but a while ago I recommend a guy who replaced the display unit on Mrs. Angel's iPhone 3GS after it failed to miss the floor once upon a time. Patrik (at ilovphone) freed my simcard from my G3 (I screwed up the eject button a year back) for placement my new 4s . He carefully replaced a faulty LCD screen on the G3 for a great price. Again: Highly recommended.

My iphone 5 was not charging properly after only 1 year of use. Well annoyed about having to travel to Apple in Oberhausen or Cologne for repairs until I decided on (obvious) self help. Now it works fine again. If anyone else should have this problem, here's the reason - pocket lint in the charging port.

The only one who can give you a "legit" unlock of your iPhone 4s - that is, removing the SIM lock - is the provider from which you obtained the phone.

 

I believe they are legally required to provide you with the unlock code free of charge upon request after 2 years.

 

Anything else is a jailbreak.
