Media Markt across Germany have announced an interesting offer today

 

Buy any Sony, Panasonic, Toshiba, Samsung, Philips or LG at Media Markt by the end of this week (May 29) and guess where the German football team will get to in the World Cup. If the team reaches or exceeds your guess then you get the following discount paid back on your purchase:

 

If you tip and they get to or beyond:

 

• the second round you get 10% refunded
• the quarter final you get 15% refunded
• the semi-final you get 20% refunded
• the final you get 25% refunded

If they win the cup you get 100% refunded so get your TV for free!

 

If you are thinking of buying a TV this is certainly worth a punt. While Media Markt don't always have the best prices, there is a reasonable chance the German team will reach the quarter or semi-final (I am told) so up to 20% discount is a reasonable refund.
