The grim reaper wants to save him the trouble of killing himself with his new power tools.

At least, that's what made me laugh.

The guy didn't tell his wife he ordered tools for his workshop.  Because he wasn't home when the delivery driver arrived, he could not intercept the truck and move the tools quietly into his shed.  His wife accepted the delivery and is not happy because she wanted to use the savings for a vacation to Aruba.  Mr. Reaper knows this and is offering to save time for everyone by taking the guy straight to the Afterlife and avoiding the drama that is waiting for him at home.

Great minds don't always think alike.B)

As the wife, I wouldn't have accepted the tools if it meant no vacay.

More of the back story.  The wife's birthday was the following week, so she had no idea what was in the five heavy boxes from Amazon Prime the UPS guy struggled to move onto the porch.  Her first thought was that after 34 years of marriage, her husband had finally remembered her birthday.

Her hopes were shattered when she opened one of the boxes and discovered a Festool OF2200 EB-Plus router.  She opened the other boxes and learned they contained woodworking tools as well with invoices totaling over €7,200.  She was not happy and her husband was panicking after he received the alert on his smart phone that Amazon delivered the packages a day earlier than anticipated.
