Laura Bush suspected poisoning at G8 summit

16 posts in this topic

Former US President George Bush may have been the victim of a poison attack during G-8 summit in Heiligendamm, Germany in 2007, according to ex-First Lady Laura Bush's new autobiography.

In her memoir "Spoken From the Heart," Bush said that she and her husband fell violently ill on the second day of the summit in the exclusive Baltic Sea resort.

"Exceedingly alarmed, the Secret Service went on full alert, combing the resort for potential poisons," wrote Bush according to the news website Politico. "The overriding fear was that terrorists had gotten control of a dangerous substance and planted it at the resort."

“The most concrete conclusion any doctors could reach was that we contracted a virus that attacks a nerve near the inner ear and is prevalent in Heiligendamm,” she wrote.

OH GOD! We were there over Easter! HELP! Can I call someone? Will they come or will we have to go into quarantine STAT?

Heiligendamm - playground of the German rich and famous and well-known hotspot for life-threatening inner-ear viruses.

Well, peschie, I have a hunch that the right wing American trolls on here are either contractors (read: mercenaries), ex-contractors or wannabe contractors. They all tend to spout the same mindless militia crapola with references to a constitution that they've never read. You guys make Sarah Palin sound like a friggin' intellectual.

Clearly someone irresponsibly left a window open and the draft nearly wiped out the entire leadership team of the United States. When will they learn?

“We never learned if any other delegations became ill, or if ours, mysteriously, was the only one,” wrote Bush according to the New York Times.

I read the quote yesterday about the Bushes never discovering whether other delegations were affected or only the US one, and thought that was extremely dubious. Could the CIA not find out?

Did they just not ask? Dubya was famous for his lack of curiosity, but come ON.

Did they not bother to alert other delegations that the food might be tainted?

I wouldn't even give it that long, if this story is the whiz-bang hook to convince people to run out and buy this book. Which it apparently is.

Or they ordered the pepperoni pizza not realizing it came with actual peppers on it.

I heard he also had trouble when he asked the waitress for a quickie, until someone told him how to pronounce quiche.

He has the weapon of mass destruction story and she has this getting poisoned story. With rich imagination like this, this pair will certainly give Dan Brown a good run for his money, when they decide someday to be fiction writers.

If this is the (only) lead that the publisher can come up with for this book than they (the publisher) is in trouble (financial). I hope they did not pay a big/huge advance for this literary masterpiece.
