Buying a snowboard

I thought I'd resurrect this thread. Does anyone have any up-to-date info on good snowboard shops. I've been to the big sports stores, but was hoping for a specialist.

Went to bittl because they had a good deal on a cheap set for beginners. The guy there seems to really know what he is talking about though and had a lengthy talk about techy stuff with my bf who has been boarding for a while.

Goodstuff by Isartor (Thomas-Wimmer Ring 14) has a huge selection of boards, from the big brands all the way down to small independent companies which you don't find in a lot of other stores. I'd recommend it highly if you have an idea what you want but beware, they seem to work on commission - they will order in what you want if it's not in stock in your size or whatever but would rather sell you the second best thing there and then to secure the sale. Passionate sales people though. They also have a few smaller stores and an outlet store selling clothing, boots and shoes from previous seasons at discount prices.

Hello, everybody. What a nice topic you've created here, it's a pity that it hasn't been updated for quite a while.

Are there any online shops that have GNU boards in stock?

I have already tried sport schuster, sportscheck, bittl and titus - all they have in stock are some burtons and other brands.

I also wrote to guys in boarders, but they didn't reply - are they still alive? Their facebook page is being updated.

Planet sport, corner of Hackenstr and Oberanger. They have all things boarding (skate, surf, snow), young staff and happy to speak english. I bought a Nitro Blacklight from EVO.com in the US and had it shipped even with tax is was >100 cheaper. trusnow.com are good as well.

Thanks, I forgot about planet sports. Sadly, they seem to be out of stock.

Buying a board with delivery from US seems to risky for me, since Russian post tends to steal some packages.

According to my calculations, if I get VAT refund at the border, the board will cost about 400 Euro, which is almost equal to US price of $489.

Btw, I'm looking for GNU Park Pickle in particular.

I'm looking for length of 153 cm.

In the end I am willing to buy the board offline in order to receive correct tax-free form.

Currently I'm looking for online shop to make a reservation, since I will be staying in Munich only for 1 day, so I want to come to the shop and grab the board.

As a last resort, I've already contacted blue tomato. They can send the board to my hotel in Austria, with the tax-free form, but I'd rather buy it in retail shop in Munich.

the store finder on Gnu's site says boarders and goodstuff in MUC, Quik Store in Rosenheim and the other closest stores would be in regensburg and straubing or in kufstein.

though thinking about it, have you checked at the quicksilver store in sendlingerstr? i know they have DC boots there atm, and i HAVE seen them have gnu boards in the window... might be worth a shot.

thanks @munichjoe, I'll definitely give these stores a shot when I arrive to MUC at 27th Jan =)

@kayakbetty this is strange, because they answered in my email that they had only 156 wide. Well, it's still 20 days to come, so I'll hope they refine their stock.

152's are womens' boards =) I don't want to ride a pink snowboard ;)

Anyway, thanks for helping me out. Btw, GNU store locator is a miracle. I guess, I'll buy my board in Innsbruck.
