Never done it becaue it is VERY expensive.

Cheap TT version is get a rubber dinghy and float down the Isar from Grünwald.

Interestingly enough, I'm planning to do grtho's budget version of this trip in the summer and did some research... a 2 man dingy is about 40 E in Real, although bigger versions are availiable

Romantic trip on traditional wooden river rafts through the beautiful Isar valley. Departure point is Wolfratshausen, a small town about 30 km south of Munich.

Surely this can't be the same as the Oompah & piss-up barges that I've seen scooting down the river during the summer being dive bombed by people on the shore.

@Keydeck,

Thanks for those interesting pics.

Assuming, this is available in May, how many TTrs are ready for this?

Me too. But depends when. If you are planning for the long weekend (May 5th - 8th), I may well not be in town.

Planning to do a trip during 7-8th of May

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

er, May? Really? Take a wetsuit... I would wait until at least mid.June to attempt this in the "clothing" shown in Keydeck's photos. The water is freezing so you'll need healthy warm guaranteed sunshine...

Sure, did the floßfahrt with my company a couple years ago. It's quite a bit of fun, especially with a large group of familiar folks you can push off in the river. Given the non-stop drinking, it's not quite what I'd place as 'romantic', but it has its vibe. We did it in August. Bring requests for the band. Don't dunk any cameras. Bring something warm in case the weather turns in the afternoon, like it did with us. Bring a water gun to squirt people on bridges, bike paths, etc.

These trips are reserved well in advance. I doubt you could get a weekend date for this summer anymore.
