post-19162-13601478363729.jpg

Mary Leakey was a British archaeologist and anthropologist

Not to be overlooked: she also gave us the famous Dick Leakey, paleoanthropologist extraordinaire and the source of endless giggles in high school science classes.

Thanks to Google I now know who Douglas Adams is. I was at work googling something and I saw he was featured so I read about his life and work. He was quite fascinating and left a large body of work.

Unfortunately,he died really young at 49 of a heart attack. I'm looking forward to reading some of his writing. I have heard of The Hitchhiker's Guide to Galaxies, but didn't know who wrote it.

Try as I might, I just can't fathom the idea that there are people who haven't read The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy.

But of course I am an engineer and work in IT so I don't associate with non-geeks very much... :D

Plenty of Germans know her because she was the woman on the 500 DM note (the Brothers Grimm were on the 1,000 DM note).
