Meetups in and around Weilheim

Hi,

 

I'm an expat from California with eleven years in Germany, but new to Toytown and wondering if there might be other English speakers in Weilheim and the surrounding area who would like to get together. Munich is a bit too far. Also, I have two boys, 6 and 9, who are bilingual, and it would be great if they could meet other English-speaking kids.

The Landsbergers could probably be persuaded to meet up half-way sometime... Diessen? We keep talking about doing a family-friendly meetup sometime like a picnic, but the weather is not exactly playing along at the moment. Or you are welcome to come to one of our meetups in Landsberg... but it would probably take you about an hour to get here.

I'm just outside tutzing and as a relatively recent arrival would be interested in meet-ups in the area. Both Weilheim and Stanberg are easily reachable.

Thanks, folks, for the interest in doing a meet-up. Any ideas as to where and when? Friday afternoons through Sundays, anyplace not too far from Weilheim, would suit me. Does anyone else have kids, or should it just be grown-ups?

Hey everyone

I'm new here.. Came to Germany the 23th of July as an au pair. I'm originally from Denmark. I live close to Augsburg in a small city called Friedberg.

I would love to meet some friends. It can be a bit lonely when everyone speaks german all day long I am 19years old.

Anyone close to Augsburg who speaks english or danish?

Hej Hej, I know what it can be like, we lived in Augsburg for our first years in Germany. There are quite a few ex pats in the area, and Like shallott says, there is a bi-weekly meetup in Landsberg, come along sometime. and hey, anyone is welcome any time to stop past us in Lengenfeld for a haver and blether.

I'm trying to start a meet up in Penzberg (see below), but Weilheim isn't too far from where I live in Habach. I moved to Germany 3 months ago to be with my german girlfriend.

I am starting work just outside of Bad Tolz, and will stay there when it isn't convenient to return home to Munich. If there is anyone around the area that would like to meet up occasionally, that would be great.

The past posts are a bit older, so not sure whether they are still up-to-date or not.

 

I was born and grew up in South Africa but have been here since '92.

I live in Marktoberdorf (not that far from Weilheim) - anyone looking for English contacts is welcome to message :-)

 

I am also in the process of starting a Stammtisch in Marktoberdorf. NOthing fancy, just people interested in practising their English. I teach English to kids and adults, and this Stammtisch is a result of my Course Participants or their parents asking if it was possible to do something like this.

We will be meeting once a month for starters and then see how it goes :-)

Hello! Is anybody out there still? I recently moved to just outside Weilheim and would like to meet other English speakers in the area. Have just been travelling in Australia, before that I lived in London, now I'm pregnant in Bavaria and mainly trying to avoid all the cakes. If there are any meet-ups please let me know, thanks!
