Experiences with dating German women

335 posts in this topic

I had a German girlfriend for 4 years; the relationship was never sizzling with passion, and I get the impression that most German women don't know how to make themselves sexy. On the whole they are very attractive, healthy, slim etc, but not very comfortable with their femininity.

Having said that: I have a date with a German girl tonight who is so breathtakingly amazing to look at, I think i'll be able to conveniently ignore the teutonic coldness. :D

Yep, concur with the opinion that German women are mad. So mad in fact that they make Blackadder's Scottish cousin, Mad Jack Mcmad- the winner of last years mister madman competition, look like a sane angel on a fluffy white cloud...

You think the Germans ladies are mad, try dating a Dutch girl!!! My wife is German and we are onto our 11th year of marriage. Has her quirks (dont we all) but I prefer the straightforward, no pissing about, "I have a problem - lets discuss it" approach. Not so gleeful about the (in my opinion) OTT germ phobias but I can live with that, as long as I dont get told how to shower. That is well out of order.

Is this your "spilled beer bottle" encounter?

Well I've been married to the German virago harridan from Hell for 14 years and she makes the Mad Hatter on acid look like the White Wabbit ;)

German women are mad? Now I feel really offended. If a relationship works out or not depends on the wo individuals and their personal skills but not on national stereotypes!!

German women are mad? Where did you get that from??

If a relationship works out or not depends on the interpersonal skills of the two individuals but not on national stereotpyes.

Thanks for your comment Fabmuc!!! I appreciate it.

Actually there is a lot of truth in your opinion about Germans complaining all the time. We are!! We are totally into it!! But there are a lot of people who are a lot more laid back.

As far as sharing bills is concerned I am not sure if it is a regional thing. Originally I am from Northrhein-Westphalia and I always share bills (dinners, concerts, whatever) but I know some women think the guy should pay to show his interest in her so that she can feel more like a woman. And on the other hand I have met British guys who thought they should pay all the time for everything anyway. Maybe it is about a traditional role thing, too. Who knows.

Very true Charlotte. I certainly wouldn't say German women are mad (completely the opposite in fact). I do think it's a shame they don't really know how to make the most of their feminine charms though.

Like what? Just what are "feminine charms"?

Ok, I can see that the word 'feminine' is going to get me in to hot water. What I mean is, German women are not very good at responding to compliments or generally realising when someone is trying to flatter them or chat them up. Compared to English girls, Germans just don't know how to play the game..

The one thing that would seriously put me off german girls is if they dont shave their armpits (and legs etc). Is that stereotype very common here?

They do.

Every 5 years.

It's not funny SOP in Ireland and England Is every thing below the eye brows goes and asking your German girl friend is going to get you nothing. But a blunt NO and then accusations you are either a pedophile or you watch too much porn.

really id love to see this add run in Germany.

Are you sure she didnt just want you to take off your trousers for something else??? did she make other guys who came to the house do the same or was it just you? ie: if some of your friends came over for dinner!!! can you picture the dinner table??!

I thought she was joking at first, or that it was a prelude to some hankypanky. But no, deadly earnest it was and twenty minutes later my trousers were still off for the same reason. With Tatort on the box. Oddly enough, the only other house guests there, while I was there, were her father and sister. Who remained completely be-trousered. On these occasions I was not asked to remove the offending garment.

It is ridiculous. I know I've put my two cents on this topic before, but really, why oh why do you have to go to a stranger to pull all your hair out by the roots, and then deal with itchiness as it grows in? It's way too much information at the gym, and it's not that sexy unless you've got the perfect pubes, anyway. And yes, a little paedo for me. Just trim it back a bit, imo.

Lucky for me the Germs find it paedo too. And the guys keep their hair on, too. Right on. Give me a man.

I will confess to being a wee bit confused here. After second reading, I realise you are talking about shaving body hair. But what the hell do you mean by "Germs find it paedo too"?

Maybe an unlucky choice of words that you chose to abbreviate.

So please tell me about simple German women, not very smart, not very pretty, sometimes trivial, but still adorable. Can anyone relate to liking this type?
