Sunday 19th October 2014. Last Sunday before the clocks go back, and we are promised sun. So a trip out of town to bag a couple of mountain views and maybe a duck for Kirchweih.

We take an S-Bahn to Deisenhofen and make our way through small villages and fields to the beautiful big mountains of beer in Aschhofen. After a break there, we turn back to cross the Isar at the ridiculously pleasant hill at Icking to climbs to the top, maybe for more views and our lunch stop at a beer garden near somewhere.

 

Weak-limbed sissy people can take an early train back from Starnberg, but the rest of us will cycle back to Munich just in time before it gets dark, probably stopping along the way.

 

All this is liable to change according to whim.

 

Distance: about 55km

Surfaces: mostly quiet lanes, some gravel. Hills
