"Run For Africa" event in the English Gardens

4 posts in this topic

Hello TTrs

We are back for the 3rd Annual Run For Africa http://www.run4africa.de/. There have been some improvements to the run and we hope everyone will come out and take part.

This year on Sunday 7th June, Move 4 Support will be holding its third annual "Run For Africa". Last year's race was a big success both as an awareness- and fundraiser for the charity's many projects throughout Africa and as a great day out for all involved, and we need your help again this year!

You can run either 5 or 10km through the English Gardens, starting and ending up by Studentenstadt. After the race, we'll be holding a summer festival with food, music, and presentations on the projects continuing into the afternoon. Details are as follows:

When: Sunday 7th June 2009. race start 10 am.

Where: Start and finish at Studentenstadt (U3/U6), Grasmeierstraße - entrance to Englischer Garten

How much: €25 or €18 concessions, includes starter pack, T-shirt and food & drink after the race. All proceeds go towards funding projects.

How to register: You can register online now at http://www.run4africa.de/, the site is in German and English. Payment is via bank transfer to the account detailed after you sign up. Any problems or questions, please email info@run4africa.de.

So sign up, get training, and come join us for a day of fitness, food and philanthropic fun!

"Run for Africa" huh? :-D more like "Run for the administrators who organize charity for Africa"

And just for the sake of being cheeky, I have never heard of a "Run for Asia" or "Run for Latin America" event... Seems that with all the other lesser economically developed continents, organizers and well wishers are more prone to specifying the nation state. Africa is actually a continent. Why is it always consolidated and humiliatingly referred to as if it were one country? oh ya , i forgot, probably founded on that we are all just a bunch of "blackies". Run for Africa.. give me a break
