After-work meetup in Landsberg am Lech 29.Mar.2018 Trödler 7:45 p.m.

I'll be in london so I won't make it this week. But anyone in need of supplies? Crisps, tea, marmite?

The following thursday (2nd) Lisa Goldfarb has got an exhibition on in Augsburg... anyone want to come along... erm actually I haven't asked Lisa if it's ok, but these things are normally the more the merrier:

Event: In Cold Blood

"Lisa and Jack Goldfarb's reptile art" in Naturmuseum der Stadt Augsburg

Lisa's brother is a photographer and she has done a series of reptile portraits.

And I think that salsa would be fun one week, and there's nothing stopping you sulking in the bar area if you don't want to dance. Or we could meet somewhere else on a wednesday - Licca Lounge often has live music on weds.

Thoroughly recommend Lisas Paintings, she has a real talent for portraiture and her style is fab.

Definately go and see them if you can, I am going to try and get there a bit later on the opening night.

I guess unless anyone else signs up then we should postpone the event until the following week.

Let's take a vote on the date for the next event to be fair to Derek who would like to enjoy a night out too

Wednesday 1st April, Licca Lounge in Landsberg or alternative there is an Irish Pub (well sort of) might be okay to hang out in there as a group.

Thursday 2nd April, Afterwork at Moritz

If wednesday is a go then I can only turn up quite late 9 pm - 9 .15 but I am always game for a night out so count me in either way.

Well, Didi, as Johnny seems to think that an evening spent with the two of us would be "lame", let's ditch it for this evening ;-)

I'd be up for either Wednesday or Thursday next week, although I'd actually prefer Weds cos I'm in Munich for work and could do Landsberg on the way home. Plus Thursday is the exhibition in Augsburg, so I guess quite a few will be going there rather than to Moritz... And yes, Licca Lounge is cool, too.

Shallot - I persuaded my parents to carry McVities plain chocolate biscuits, but that was all they could get in their cases. I'm waiting for them to bring the car again (which hasn't been done for about 8 years cos flying is cheaper), then I'll get stocked up!!! I already have some DVDs to return, too. Have a fab time in London...

I think JE is a very afraid of the dance floor. We would never have left you stranded at the bar alone.

ok next Thursday is out because a few of you are going to Augsburg to the Gallery. I can't go to that because I have a prior commitment earlier in the evening. Start a sign up for Wednesday at the Licca Lounge

Didi, next time we'll just drag JE onto the dancefloor with us and he can play being a new fancy man himself ;)

OK, I'm on for the Licca Lounge on Wednesday.

7.30 sounds great.

Hubert von herkomer

Fascinating fact for today, Hugh was born in wales, and in usual denglification style was renamed Hubert that came here. If you look at his paintings in the stadt museum they are all signed in English.

yawn, enough of the boring lectures beggs.

What I meant to say was.

I'll be there,

Derek

Even more nerdy (counter) facts:

Hubert was born in Waal but he did become a naturalised british citizen in 1872 and was said to come from Bavaria. He returned to germany and became a german citizen again after the death of his wife, so that he could marry her sister. At the time this was illegal in the uk. The second set of uk naturalisation papers from 1897 state that he is "of doubtful nationality".

What's up JE you not coming out tonight? I get it, you are wondering why Derek can go to the art gallery on Thursday but not Moritz?

OK, I think it is time I owed you all an explaination about my thursday thing.

Hope this helps...

I finish work at 5 and get home about six to look after my wee boy.

Mrs B runs Kiehls cosmetics at Oberpollinger in Munich. She gets the S-bahn back every night to Geltendorf, and as we only have 1 car, I go and pick her up with our son at either 7.00pm or 8.45pm.

If we meet up on thursday at 7.30, then I can be there for maybe 15 minutes and have to go and pick her up and (provided I dont get stuck in the effing snow) take her home, where we put the wee man to bed and then I could try getting back to t'pub, but by this time, its quite late.

If Mrs B finishes late, I have to look after wee Beggs and pick her up at 8.45, and repeat the taking home thing, or come at 7.30 with Alan for 45mins, which is also an option if the bar, and of course you, are ok with it.

Wednesdays are great as Mrs B is off and can not only drop me off, but pick me up too so I can have a beer or two.

With regard to the exhibition, we will be arriving very late as we are coming straight from Geltendorf s-bahn, so aim to be at the show around 8 or around 9.30.

Hope that explains my antisocial behaviour.

See you all tonight.

JE, is that a sufficient excuse, or would you like a note from my mum (we'd have to use a wije board, but if it helps explain my actions, no problem) ;)
