Okay, this time more user friendly:

Tomorrow, Tuesday 21st October, at 7 pm in The Arc.

Still open to other venues which have wireless and a decent pint!

OK, the Hof Brau Keller has T-Mobile WLAN. Its not free unless you have a data plan but it is cheap.

I thought Starbucks in Munich you had to pay for the internet or have a plan?

This was almost 2 years ago so they very well may have changed it since then...

Being the Linux Genius's you are, I'm sure somebody could setup something to leech off a local open AP. ;)

Linux geeks should also be able to figure out how to update the date and venue in this post's title. ;)

Thanks, mate. You can tell you're talking to a real pro B)

Anyway, I'm dying for a pint after a long day's work, so I'll tell tomorrow whether anyone dared show up.

Cheers!

What needs to be setup if the AP is open?

My l33t skillz are clearly not needed here. PM me if you want to hire me.

Otherwise, the fork be with you.

Well, I am just recovering from all the fun I had

Wireless lan in The Arc will be up and running again starting next week - or so I've been told.

When the pub got crowded with the footy lot I started flinging knoppix cds at them which wasn't all that well received - thanks for that, darkknight

I am writing this from the hospital, where at least they got wireless lan.

Oh, and there is an openplone day at the Seidl Villa come 7th November. A whole day of talks and presentations... I hope there will be a few more people!

Linux in hospitals? I don't think so - otherwise they'd be virus free :P

Next.
