I miss Woolworth. Not the UK one - the Australian one.

Woolworths is the Australian one.

I actually remember Woolworths in the states when they had a soda fountain and you could buy a burger. They all closed down in the late 70s or early 80s.

Screw H&M's and Kaufhof on every corner, give me a Target and a TJMaxx and I will be set for life in this country!

There's a huge H&M in Mall of America. :)

Think its too late to return the stuff?

nope- they'll give you store credit. if you're lucky you and have the receipt they might give you money back!

I actually looked at flights last night after reading this thread. But do I take the kids shopping with me or not ...

nope! leave them! :)

if you need anything (brought to you) i might be able to hook you up in the next 2-3 weeks

I don't care much for Target. Mostly because from what I remember, they hired employees at a maximum 32 hour week, so as to avoid paying health care to "full-time" (i.e. 40 hours/week) employees. Maybe they've changed in the intervening years, but that's a crap policy.

I think the heirarchy is Wally World < Kmart < Target

Maybe Kmart is worse than wally world, I haven't been to one in over a decade.

I just moved from the states 5 days ago and, at least in Colorado, KMart is slowly going out of business. They just can't compete with Walmart and Target...no middle market! The one by my old house has probably 4 people working in the entire store at any given time!

I wish I would have read this thread a week ago! I would have taken an entire day to wonder in a SuperTarget for a few hours!

And for anyone who doesn't know, Target has revamped their image and business strategy and have become an even better store with better quality! Wanted to separate itself from the Walmart market.

murphy, if you're really a Brit, you write exceedingly poor English.

Target is considered an exemplary company. I don't know about their hiring procedures, but they are a Twin Cities company and donate a lot of money to local schools. I hardly ever go to WalMart here, but if you look at the employees at my local WalMart vs. Target, it's not hard to guess which one has higher standards (and likely pays more with better benefits.)

WHY is it that Brits post incoherently on threads that have nothing to do with them?

By the way, murphy, I'm not following you around the forum. I've posted to this thread before and am following up.

Cinzia we live in the world and are global citizans so, why should this thread have nothing to do with where in fact I was born, who were my parents or grandparents, this thread has everything to do with human beings everywhere. Its a shopping want thread for gots sake. You are not so nice are you? you have issues? oh your american I should tell you your wonderful and the best thing so your self esteem is ok blablalbla. my question is why are you so low in personal self esteem that you have to put down everyone to make yourself feel better. WHY?? is that.

I don't respond to personal attacks, murphy. Diagnosing me with low self-esteem and not-niceness for pointing out, factually, that your English is shite is a personal attack.

Oh, hey, I'm still waiting breathlessly for you to respond to your other personal attack over on the US elections thread about how I'm not nice and how I despise poor women. Quotes this time, please.
