Men standing when peeing, why is it so bad?

445 posts in this topic

Stehpinkeln has been a big topic on my mind of late. Through watching day time TV I have come to realise that a vast majority of people (mainly German women) are disgusted by men who pee in standing.

I can understand that it can make a mess sometimes (I am not a man, thusly, I have no personal experience) but is it such a terrible thing? Am I the only one who seems to think that it's OK for men to stand and pee into a toilet?!

what a load of rubbish. Peeing when sitting constricts the bladder and is not altogether good and can lead to urine retension. This is one reason why women are more prone to bladder or urethral infections.

And if the Germans were so against men standing when peeing (something I have never ever come across) then why do most men's loos have urinals in them?

My advice would be lay off the daytime TV as it seems to be warping your brain.

urine retension

If I wish to retension my knob, should it be rotated clockwise or anti-clockwise?

i think urinals are a different story. it's the standing peeing at a 'sit down' toilet that freaks out some germans

It's icky because they frequently miss, flatly deny it, and refuse to clean the toilet. Cleaning up someone else's pee is even less fun than it sounds, so German women usually put their foot down: either clean your own pee, or do it sitting down. The men decide that sitting down is less of a threat to their masculinity than cleaning up after themselves, which baffles me, but there you go.

I'm fine with it, as long as I don't have to be the one to clean it up.

ahhh, I see. But then they like staring and sniffing their faeces on the poo shelf rather invalidating their opinions about a standing pee.

My advise don’t have a “see who can piss the highest " competition is not such a good idea ,but anyway after a few beers the aiming thing is a bit f#cked so I tend to sit down

I find the problem is more preventing my knob from dangling in the water.

Exactly the explanation I've been given. It baffles me on so many levels. First of all, how difficult is it to aim properly? It's not like you're trying to hit a target the size of a pencil eraser, it's a big frigging bowl FFS.

I just typed the rest of this post, read it, and deleted it on the grounds that I decided it was going to make me look like a complete idiot. The gist of it was that sitting down to pee is just totally unmasculine and that I would/do think less of any guy who admitted doing it. See, I sound stupid, don't I?

Edit: GT, some men definitely do pee sitting down. Fact. I know a few who have said they do, for the reason alala gave above.

I'm with you there - I just can't get my head round this German idea of Sitzpinkeln. Do German men really pee sitting down? (Not even sure I want to know the answer to that. )

'Hitler Pissing' helps aiming when drunk (one hand leaning on the wall above the loo) acc. to my bloke.

Yeah, me too, when I stand.

Not stupid at all, I was just thinking the same. Don't think I could respect a guy who sits down to do the deed. Maybe that's why I prefer not to know.

Well I know calling someone a 'Sitzpinkler' is an insult, but not sure why if it (men sitting to pee) is as commonplace as I suspect it is.

GT, just add it to the list of questions NOT to ask a potential lover. How many women have you slept with, are you over your ex, do you sit down to pee... these are all questions you just don't need to have the answers to.
